Will Linwood Grocery Save Kansas City???

A money loser from day one . . . This project seeks to solve the "food desert" problem that doesn't really exist and/or has already been addressed by mobile/Internets alternatives. Take a look: Linwood neighborhood hopes to revitalize shopping center

  1. If you were a potential investor in this "project", you'd first ask yourself what happened to the last grocery in the very same location.
Then you would invest your money somewhere else.
This will turn out like most KCMO city projects in general, and east side projects in particular, always do.
Behold the magic of turning taxpayer money into thin air.
    Want to see it again?
    The KCMO treadmill of "progress".

  2. Did the store on Blue Parkway save the City? What about all those new police buildings? The Aldis on 39th Prosect? The entrepreneur incubator on 59th Prospect? 18th Vine renovation? 71 Hwy? Beacon Hill? Citadel? Black police chief? Black Mayor? Various Black politicians?

No??? Expect this to be in line with all the other bullshit. It'll be open for the years its subsidized and will close soon after. Hopefully, the grifters cheerleading these projects will be dead by then. That's when we will see real change. A veil of oppression lifted on the Eastside.

  3. So, everybody is just going to look past the fact that Maxwell did major time in prison and he's back in the action. Maxwell is also a sellout. He cares nothing for the neighborhood. He lived in very comfortable Leawood, KS. And the area is not a food dessert.

If you'll recall, they've misused the term to justify nearly every project they've touched. The Aldis which is just a few blocks away was supposed to solve the purported food dessert issue.

KSHB is not reporting news. They are cheerleading. That's sad.

  4. Anything that keeps the boons shoplifting and robbing in their own area works fine for me.
