ReplyDeleteThe idea that a black reporter would be called upon to do stories involving black people is not racist, nor is it racist when race is a factor in obtaining news involving whites. The are well established practices in broadcast journalism. White folks know blacks have trust issues and sending in a black reporter lends the situation to cultivating more substance.
Sending a black reporter to interview a KKK member is a great idea when you are looking to capture a racist reaction on camera. We also contract middle eastern reporters in the middle east for a myriad of reasons having to do with expedience and safety as white or black Christian reporters don't seem to live long without getting their heads chopped off. This is just another case of a snowflake not liking that her boss actually runs the show. Good luck with that!

Had a bud back in the day who tried to break into the TV News game -- worked on air in a small town for awhile --just couldn't catch on anywhere bigger --said screw it, and moved on to a more usual 9-5 office job.

I think Cynthia Newsom is a pretty nice person and good on air. She beat cancer and for a long time did workout segments with people around town.
