TKC SUNDAY NIGHT QUESTION: IS CITY HALL TRYING TO SCUTTLE KANSAS CITY AIRPORT IN FAVOR OF SINGLE-TERMINAL PLAN???

As we make our way to the work week . . . One of the top experts on the airport demands more transparency and accountability from City Hall.

An important question as even more people question the ONGOING AND SUSPICIOUS DOWNGRADES @ MCI . . .

"Meanwhile, when do we get a chance to see how well the Aviation Department is taking care of Terminal A?"

You decide . ..

  1. Probably never.

Sly might form another committee and hope you forget.

  2. The terminals at KCI have been allowed to deteriorate for years.
Not only was routine maintenance ignored, the carpets weren't even kept clean.
All so the place looked shabby, didn't have more seating or wi-fi capability, or adequate restrooms, and all so the public would buy into the notion that the only thing that could fix the place was building a billion dollar new facility.
It wasn't until recently that the airport even had a cell phone parking lot for people picking up arriving passengers, something that well-run airports have had for many years.
How may we inconvenience you today?
It's sad to watch public facilities be as poorly run and maintained as they are in KCMO.

  3. The city has a twitter problem. Too many so-called leaders think that a social media following makes them popular!

  4. I'm agnostic on the airport issue but it's pretty clear the city has stacked the deck on the airport kinda like Kemper back in the day.

  5. ^^^ OUCH.

  6. It worked for Kemper, it worked for the stadiums, why not try it for the airport. Just make everything as inconvenient as possible, leave things dirty and ignore maintenance issues. The city probably has an instruction manual for these situations.

  7. Kevin Koster and his business Skopos are tenants in a tax-abated, subsidized luxury building. Why is it OK for him to be subsidized and not the Star?

  8. Yeah, the Aviation Department and the city are going to, if not already, let the airport crumble so that at some point there is no choice but to build a new one. The games people in power play that ultimately harm the lower and middle classes.

  10. refurbishing and upgrading would be a bargain and make common sense.

but the elites are looking for a rakeoff from two billion.
