  4. Big whoop, 80 bizzes are asked to take part and only 41 respond. What's that tell ya? Citing that "several" respondents say they're pleased with the transportation amenity brings to mind Hilly's prevaricated poll numbers that got super-sized spin, while thin crowds were viewed at her rallies. A Project Veritas or such, getting surveillance on the tiny toy train on a tad over two miles of track would be fun. There's some high enough window perches from 3rd St. to Pershing for facile recon. Or, a series "tourists" and "students" with GoPros a day or two may prove fun, too.

  5. Some decent, ambitious Kansas Citians could have made better use of the TooT LooT millions with loans or grants to start or expand enterprises downtown and beyond. Give some first priority to marine vets' families, or any branches' families, for a startup gig. If the TooT LooT got yanked out now and sold off or made into stationsry riverside dining cars, kiosks, or fill-in-the-blank, very many millions would fetch real revenues. Can wheels get installed on the "driver" sections to make food trucks?

  7. This isn't hard. Send someone in to the business owners who survived construction and ask them if they are up overall once they subtract losses during construction and higher rent due to streetcar taxes, and if they would do it again.

Then ask, since they are the ones who supposedly benefit from it, would they share the operating costs if we never charge for it.

Be sure to repeat the first question if we start charging for it and ridership goes away.

  8. FACT : Last Friday evening down at the River Quay city market, TOY TRAIN came by with 7 whole people on it at 6:30pm.

that's how many I counted, 7 people on the TOY TRAIN

at 6:30pm on a Friday early evening at 6:30

BUT if you take that 7 people and Times that say times 100,,,, you'd have 700 people riding that street car that evening,,,

I just forgot to do the Fantasy illusionary Math like KCMO City hall does to get those phony Bogus numbers they come up with !!!!!

  10. if the street car is so great why does the city keep buying new busses?

  11. Businesses I talked to are not doing cartwheels about the street car. In fact, one was very much against it. But they fear coming out and to say so. After seeing the way this was shoved down the taxpayer's throat I can understand their fear of launching any negative campaigns against the street car. But at some point, the truth and the reality of the whole mess has to be dealt with. Expansion isn't the answer.

  12. 41 businesses responded. They threw out the 37 negative ones and based it on the four.

  13. Notice the type of businesses asked: coffee shops, restaurants, and bars, places hipsters go. No one surveyed other kind of businesses other than retail.

No, Sue Burke is not related to Mike Burke.
