The rate of Kansas City killing continues to keep pace with last year after early morning carnage impacts a local couple.
Last year there were 11 murders at this point in the year.
Here's the latest on this morning's murder:
Shooting on East 29th Street leaves man dead, woman injured
One killed, one injured in shooting on Prospect
Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the police department, or CrimeStoppers at 816 474-TIPS.

ReplyDeleteDon't worry Jolie Justus is in the phone booth at this exact moment changing into her Super Guy outfit!
ReplyDeleteShe's gunna save us from all this crime!
I know how to fix this problem. We need to keep giving away even larger taxpayer subsidies to developers! Then increase the size of the Mayors Twerk and Jerk programs this summer!
ReplyDeleteTrump is going to need to send in the military to clean up KCMO's criminal infestation.
ReplyDeleteNothing bad happens at 29th & Prospect at 4:30 in the morning, nothing at all. To be fair, you could get shot at high noon also. It's not the time of day that's the problem, it's the mere presence of a single black person.
ReplyDeleteArticle in the WSJ today about NY City homicides at about 435, less than 3 times KCMO with 15 times the population. The article went on to say the dramatic decrease in crime in NY had not been replicated in many other cities. At least KC was not mentioned as one of the worst but St Louis achieved that dubious distinction.
ReplyDeleteRelax. Go to a bar and have a artisan whiskey with a piece of celery, vitamin b and c, and kale shavings in it.
ReplyDeleteWhats the matter with you idiots! Remember when Sly said it's just part of living in the city during the freeway shooter deal a few years back!
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor knows best!
Checking my Facebook status. OMG They say I'm pretty! So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKCPD lacks the initiative to fight crime. They can't get the job done.
ReplyDeleteI have an open question to the officers who work for KCPD. I have read over and over that you are losing officers, but the chief hasn't said it. I have read that your department wrote 40-50 thousand less tickets from the year before. Crime appears to be unchecked and rising. A lot has been written about the chief and his statements about his own officers.
ReplyDeleteSo, what has to be done to fix your department? We, the TAXPAYERS, need to hear what should be done. What can we do to help fix what appears to be completely broken? If we need to call the city council, what do we need to say?
I day stud if you cannot offer help.

ReplyDeleteActually if you've seen Jolie Justus recently, there's no way she could possibly fit a phone booth, even if there were any of those still around.
There are many millions of federal, state, county, city, foundation, corporation, and individual dollars spent each year on "anti-crime" groups and programs and that doesn't even include the $230 million annual budget of the KCPD.
There is no oversight, leadership, or accountability from elected or appointed officials in KCMO and precious little serious direction or leadership within the KCPD.
And there is no serious leadership in the most safety-challenged communities in the city or any effort made to encourage the residents in those neighborhoods to cooperate with the police.
The issue continues to blame everyone but the feral thugs involved for the problem.
When an adult can assassinate innocent children you do not have a social or economic issue to deal with. You have a basic question of how any society that is powerless to effectively address that kind of mindless and destructive behavior can continue to exist.
KCMO continues to be a sucking chest would on the entire region.
Actually KCMO, when leadership speaks is more like a giant fart coming out of their mouths that never ends blowing into the faces of citizens who give a shit about this place.

ReplyDeleteDon't worry, folks! Things are safer than they've ever been. See we have a City run by a host of Black officials including the Mayor, Police Chief and City Council people. What this City lacks, however, is leadership of any kind. Those same officials were bragging that taking people's houses would make the area safer and that just didn't happen like the magic trick they suggested. Oh well, on to the next ribbon cutting while the body count near East Patrol continues to mount unabated and unattended. It's a lose, lose and lose again situation. Now back to your regularly scheduled propaganda, urban gunfights and stray bullets.
