TKC Told You So!!! Golden Ghetto Produce Outpaces Kansas City River Market

We broke the story of increased competition and lackluster KCMO City Market management . . . Now, at the end of the year, competition has lured even more crowds to JoCo.

  1. The shoplifted and stolen stuff is a lot better at the KC City Market.

  2. The streetcar has caused an impossible situation for the City Market. People have stopped coming, because of the parking problems the trolley has caused.

  3. Crime story missed by all-
Some guy named Artie recently went into Hyvee and found $1 bill on the floor. He went to pick it up and two others went for it at the same time.
He ended up strangling both people and no one reported it except the local grocery ad which had a head-line:
Artichokes 2 for $1 at Hyvee...

  4. I tried to patronize the farmers market in my town, but after two visits, I'll never go back. For some reason farmers markets around here have live music, always amplified to a level that makes shopping unpleasant. Who the fuck wants or needs noisy music to buy veggies and stuff?

Here's the thing people don't get: When you have live music at a venue whose primary purpose is not listening to music, it has to be unobtrusive. Like elevator music. Because everyone has different musical tastes. I happen to detest country music. I can stand it in the background, however. But at the farmers market, it is never in the background. it is LOUD. So guess what? I don't go to the farmers market.

KCMO destroyed the City Market by letting trolley people take away the parking. The Joco burbs ruin farmers markets with loud music.

This place is such a joke because so much of our public life is run by incompetents and fools.
