Remember that not so long ago Kansas City elected officials claimed that Branson could threaten Kansas City airport traffic IF we didn't build a new airport . . . According to a now obscure council person, this is the airport that was stealing business from KCI.. The fact that made no sense at all didn't deter him from claiming it.

As I recall,,, they built that Branson Airport down there, under the "ILLUSION" & Fantasy,,,, that lotta of those Branson Music Venues, that were popular back in the late 1980's thru the 1990's would still be popular and draw in crowds and money from all over the country, was their illusion & fantasy back then.

They forgot to realize, that many of those Country Hick Stars were growing OLDER and would soon be retiring or be DEAD from old age and with it goes the supposed musical venue they had grand illusions for !
Yes, people get old, people retire, people DIE,, evidently nobody brought any of that up at the Board meetings when building that airport back then !!!
Meaning those COUNTRY STAR SINGERS they were banking on would within a few years all be DEAD or unable to perform, because their too damn old and can't perform - Duhhhhhh,,,,,,
Seriously, who really wants to FLY or Drive to listen to a former 1960's, 1970's Country Bumpkin' singer who's now 90 - 95 years old attempt to sing their famous 1972 Hit Song,,,, thru a tube in their throat and hooked up to an IV bottle with 2 nurses standing by their side just in case they go into cardiac arrest on stage in front of everybody ??????? and have to PAY to see the show and PAY to FLY there too ??????
That's what the Developers and bullshit artists were advocating for when they sold that bullshit project to everybody and blew smoke up everybodys ass and got em' to believe and buy into all the hype and BS.
