Remember that the streetcar enjoys extra police protection but far less focus on cleaning up amid sometimes nasty ryders.
Accordingly, our blog community has reported a great deal of lingering coffee spills, nasty food and other questionable fluids specifically forbidden by the rules of the streetcar . . .

The big event at Union Station should bring plenty of pukers despite the Downtown attempt to keep things classy and keep hobos off the trolley. Meanwhile, even a few drunken passengers for the toy train streetcar should be welcomed amid tragically dropping Winter ridership numbers.

Corruption of this kind in KC hasn't been seen for a very long while. This is Pendergast style graft right under our noses.

The fluid I disliked the most was a consumptive who kept coughing and spiting muck on the floor. What ever he had I do not want it.

ReplyDeleteWith the business expertise regularly exhibited a city hall, I'm sure KCMO could find a contractor or two that would clean the streetcar for, say $1 million or so a year.

They hired sum degenerate cleaning crew who never really cleaned much of anything, but still get paid,,,,
and upon several Conventions,,,, National Conventions at that,,,,
Threy notified KCMO City officials they would NOT be coming back to KCMO for any more conventions
as I recall from the headlines way back then, one of them was the FFA,, convention, Future Farmers of America and some other conventions that pulled out of KCMO as well.
KCMO has a vast history & Track record of doing this thru the decades,,
Hyping up & pumping up all kinds of rhetoric & BS to push their ill agendas, then once they get them approved, they can NOT ever keep them up or maintain what they advocated for, and the Venues end up going to utter SHIT , falling apart in disarray.
Typical of Degenerates down at KCMO City Hall, who's priorities are so ass backwards and mixed up, its pathetic !!!
If you would charge a dollar a ride you would keep a lot of the pukers, poopers and pissors off the train.

ReplyDeleteDon’t expect any investigative reporting by the local media, they just publish press releases from the trolley folks. Lynn Horsley of the Star is the worse. She keeps quoting those outlandish ridership numbers.
