NOBODY Cares About Kansas City Bike Drama

Here's the newspaper writing for a constituency of about two dozen people TOPS and then wondering why people have stopped reading or caring about anything the paper seyz . . . It's a great article and info that's probably important but a subject that most locals regard as a causal nuance at best. Translation: Kansas City isn't a bicycle town no matter how much this special interest groups imagines that they influence local policy: Scathing audit faults Kansas City bike plan as 'only lines on a map'

  1. We do not need dedicated bikes lanes on Armour Boulevard. It is wide with low traffic volume. Where dedicated bikes lanes are required are 3rd and 5th streets in River Market. City Halls ignorance of this shows how out of touch they are with reality.

  3. Before spending any money painting bike lanes on the boulevards, the omission of bike lanes on streets with trolley tracks must be corrected. Experience in other cities shows that the best and safest way to integrate bikes and streetcars is to put the streetcar in the center of the street and provide a separate bike facility like a cycletrack at the curb. Adding bike lanes along the actual streetcar route can add little to no cost to the overall project while significantly enhancing the value of the street.

  6. Maybe I'd be a little more sympathetic as a motorist if these arrogant, lane-hog, unmovable riders would abide by the traffic laws instead of blocking traffic by riding 4 or 5 abreast and not single filing up when approached by motor vehicle attempts to overtake them. They've shown they're incapable of sharing a standard lane with larger vehicles. Fuck em!

Tub-a-lard jelly donut eating motorists violate more laws and cause more wrecks than any bicycle ever could. Distracted driving by fast-food-tub-a-lard-French-fry fat asses are a threat to society and no law will ever stop them from texting Texas Toms and pre-ordering cholesterol-artery-choking fatty-acid foods.

For every law a fit bicyclists breaks - thousands of tub-a-lard motorists kill or maim with their 2-ton fossil-eating red meat eating vehicles. Keep texting while driving and watch your car hit something that will pop your fat-ass-tub-a-lard belt.

Keep on biking to stay in shape. While others eat to fill their boredom- the rest of us are exerting to make America great again!!

  8. The reason they do not share a lane is because KCMO drivers do not know how to change lanes to go around. Our lanes are not built to hold a car + pedestrian/biker. Get in the other lane & just go around.

  9. We can't get an audit of Water Services, but we can audit bicycles.
