Dutifully counted off by local media amid most of the local media as a top story for 2016 but with very little new ideas or hope to change the trend . . .

Kansas City's Mayor joins in on the sad sentiment over increasing Kansas City homicides on Twitter without much hope for the future and no new plan.

  1. Yeah, I think I saw his honor going into the Capital Grill a couple of weeks ago with some developers and their lawyers. I thought at the time....wow, there he goes, working every day and into the night, trying to do something about rampant black violence in kcmo.

  2. "...too many things beyond my grasp." Now that's a truthful statement.

  3. The good news is he is going to establish a task force to decide on a cemetery for the roof of the new convention hotel. So far the only thing we know is that it will be named the Off'd Loft. Congressman Cleaver is on board so KC could be the first in the nation to have Section 8 cemetery plots with free internet.

  4. I appreciate his vulnerability in admitting he has absolutely no clue how to deal with anything that he can't cheerlead his way to conclusion. I'd offer that he start at the end (murder) and work his way back. People do not wake up one morning & decide to commit a crime, there is a path to it. His job is to use his power of influence and $1B+ to improve quality of life of KCians. That's not downtown condos, streetcars or "frosty". It's actually tying decisions to policy to affect an ends. Be smart Mayor, people are dying due to your ignorance.

  5. Sly doesn't care about KC, he only cares about himself.

  6. Nice leadership, Sly. "Help me solve the crime problem guys! I just have no clue. So sorry! Oh by the way, can I have 800 million bucks for some shit?"

  7. Tweeting self-pity while Kansas City burns. That, right there, is pretty much everything you need to know about how Kansas City is run.
