Craig Glazer: Blue Collar Star At Stanfords This Weekend: JAMES JOHANN
James Johann started his comedy career in the late 90's Westport Stanfords. In a few years he got a try out for the BLUE COLLAR tour. Yep with Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy. They added Ron White and Bill Engvall. The five guys opened the concept at Universal Studios in Los Angeles the famed tour theater. It sold out with more than 6,000 on hand including me. I was there with the manager JP and former KC gal, Maggie Houlihan, who now manages the guys and our own April Macie. Johann opened the show and was simply TOO GOOD. That's right. They wanted a soft ball opener not an equal to Larry and Jeff comic...James was with William Morris and not JP. JP sent him out on the road to open for Larry at theaters and arena's including our own, Kemper, sold out 12,000. Johann killed it, I was there too.
Sadly James is a talented comic, not a business guy and he was kinda screwed over by lesser talent and brushed to the co star role. He deserved to star with Larry and Jeff, he was just as funny maybe funnier. Since those days he is a regular on CMT, late Nights with Craig Ferguson and often on NBC's comedy series late night. Yet imagine the 'money' had he been one of the five guys on the long running Blue Collar Tour instead of a short run and off to co star with the guys. James is outstanding and from this area's Miami County...yes Paola.

ReplyDeleteI read on another famous blog that Craig was 70 years old, wore a wig, and has AIDS. Who knows anymore. As long as he doesn't knick his hand while washing the dishes for the flower pot bread I guess we are fine.
