TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! HOW SHOULD KANSAS CITY REMEMBER 9/11???

The worst terror attack in American history has always been a tricky subject for this blog community.

On one hand, the hype about Osama Bin Laden's ghost coming to take all of our cheese has always been hard to swallow. But the world is getting smaller, more violent and increasingly divided . . . In the end, the current culture war epoch impacts our local politics and lives much more than most people think.

A few debates that we've never been able to solve . . .

Is 9/11 just another really good excuse to kick illegal Mexicans out of the country?

This debate cuts to the heart of immigration concerns because people take the small number of Syrian refugees more seriously whilst the massive decades long influx of Latinos changing American culture seems to be the much bigger threat even if most of them are only armed with leaf blowers, mops and buckets.

How Much Credit Do We Give Politicos Touting Their 9/11 Military Career???

MO SecState Jason Kander features his service front and center in his upstart campaign that could unseat U.S. Senator Blunt who received three draft deferments while a college student . . . New SecState candidate Will Kraus seems like he's looking for somebody to bomb from Lee's Summit in order to continue his military career . . . Gunslinger Missouri Gov. candidate Eric Greitens features his military record and firearms love front and center but gets very little love for his service. It might be unpopular to note but TKC has always contended that . . . MILITARY GLORY DOESN'T EQUAL ELECTED OFFICE SUCCESS AND IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE ASKING OUR POLITICOS TO STAND A POST . . . In fact, in the public discourse it's important not to let topics of "patriotism" cloud policy issues mostly related to how corporate tax breaks are administered - One of the primary functions of government nowadays.

Is It Fair Do Disrespect 9/11 Pandering When Employed To Sell Expensive Booze @ The Stadium???

The Chiefs are hopping board the 9/11 bandwagon tomorrow . . .

Jared Allen coming back to Arrowhead, Chiefs will honor first responders

C'mon . . . Most pro-footballers never fought for anyone but themselves . . . And while the NFL is embroiled in a (almost totally pointless) patriotism controversy. Let's not forget that football is JUST A GAME that's subsidized by overburdened taxpayers at the behest of much richer suburbanite interlopers.

And so . . . All of these questions are a good place to start out 9/11 conversation and we'll highlight anything really brilliant that comes up in the comments . . .

Tonight this topic simply inspires our playlist . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night . . .

  4. RE: TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! HOW SHOULD KANSAS CITY REMEMBER 9/11???

TKC asks the following 3 questions:
Is 9/11 just another really good excuse to kick illegal Mexicans out of the country?
How Much Credit Do We Give Politicos Touting Their 9/11 Military Career???
Is It Fair Do Disrespect 9/11 Pandering When Employed To Sell Expensive Booze @ The Stadium???

And the answers, in order, are:
    1) The events of 9/11 and it's remembrance, have nothing to do with illegal Mexicans in this country other than the Patriot Act provisions dealing with immigration.
    2) We give politicos like Jason Kander no credit. Please remember that Mr. Kander joined the military BECAUSE he planned to seek political office in the future. Mr. Kander and his wife are among that odd group who planned out their adult career timeline while still in their 20's. Bill Clinton used an Arkansas political connection to get a scholarship to Oxford, avoiding the Vietnam draft, and then later backed out of a commitment to join ROTC. George W. Bush joined the Texas Air National Guard to avoid Vietnam, and yet claim service. Barack Obama got married because America wasn't going to elect a gay man.
    3) People are wise to recognize pandering wherever they find it.

And now for some 9/11 truth:

In the years following 9-11-01, researchers have been able to clearly narrow down the possible explanations for the events to 2 options. Either the United States government (1) let it happen, or (2) made it happen. The only difference is the extent of planning and involvement.

In 1997, William Kristol and Robert Kagan, began a neoconservative think tank called "The Project For A New American Century" (PNAC) with 25 initial signing members. Both founders are American Jews who lobby for an aggressive American interventionist foreign policy. Mr. Kagan is married to Victoria Nuland of the Obama Administration's disastrous activities at Benghazi and in Ukraine.

Of the twenty-five people who signed the PNAC's founding statement of principles, ten went on to serve in the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush, including Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz. If you know your recent history, you'll recognize other names like Richard Perle, R. James Woolsey, Elliot Abrams, Robert Zoellick, and John Bolton.
PNAC began lobbying for regime change in Iraq long before George W. Bush became President, and released a white paper "Rebuilding America's Defenses" which included a passage suggesting that the transformation of American armed forces through new technologies and operational concepts was likely to be a long one, "absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor."

Recall that the Presidential election of November 2000 hinged on the vote count in Florida, where Jeb Bush was Governor, and wasn't ultimately decided until a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in December. The reason for this unprecedented action was because George W. Bush had to enter the White House if the carefully crafted plans for 9/11 were to be enacted. In his second week in office, Bush appointed Vice-President Cheney to head the Energy Task Force, and a series of secret meetings with Big Oil executives ensued. Though it wasn't until years later, researchers discovered that the meetings included the divvying up of Iraqi oil fields among Western energy companies.

  5. On July 24, 2001, New York City real estate developer Larry Silverstein (Silverstein Properties) signed a lease with The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to become the leaseholder for the World Trade Center complex. This occurred only after the initial winner of the bid saw their deal fall through in negotiations. This was the first time in the building's 31-year history that the complex had changed management. Silverstein put up $14 million of his own money to secure the deal. Mr. Silverstein reworked the insurance policies in place on the buildings to specifically cover multiple acts of terrorism. The agreement gave Silverstein, as leaseholder, the right and the obligation to rebuild the structures if destroyed. The insurance policies for World Trade Center buildings had a collective face amount of $3.55 billion. Following the September 11, 2001, attacks, Silverstein sought to collect double the face amount (~$7.1 billion) on the basis that the two separate airplane strikes into two separate buildings constituted two occurrences within the meaning of the policies.

Prior to Tuesday September 11, 2001, a steel-framed skyscraper had never suffered a total collapse due to fire, earthquake, or other cause. On the morning of September 11, two buildings (WTC 1-2) turned to dust and collapsed straight down. The second building struck by a plane was the first to fall, despite having less time to experience fire damage (the official explanation). In the late afternoon, a third building (50+ story WTC 7) collapsed straight down as well, despite no plane strikes.

FEMA disaster rescue teams had arrived in NYC on Monday September 10, and set-up temporary working quarters a few blocks from the WTC complex.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported the collapse of building WTC 7, live on-air, before it happened, with the tower still standing in the background behind their reporter.
Former Secretary of Transportation, Norman Mineta, testified that on 9/11 while in the President's Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) bunker-like structure underneath the White House, VP Cheney ordered the plane approaching the Pentagon to not be shot down.

On September 11, 2001, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) was involved in an ongoing operation which involved deploying fighter aircraft to northwestern North America. The US Military and NORAD had also planned to conduct several military exercises and a drill was being held by the National Reconnaissance Office, a Department of Defense agency.
Operation Northern Vigilance was used to deploy fighter aircraft to Alaska and Northern Canada, away from where they would be needed.
Operations Global Guardian, Vigilant Guardian, Vigilant Warrior, and NRO's drill simulating a plane crashing into their building, were all used to distract and confuse those who would be responding to the actual attacks taking place. Military and FAA air-traffic controllers were looking at screens with real and artificially inserted radar signals. Controllers were repeatedly heard to ask "Is this exercise or real-world?"

On the morning of September 11, the government was already feeding the media a script blaming the attacks upon Usama bin Laden and his al Qaeda terrorist group hiding in the caves of Afghanistan. The Afghanistan War started on October 7, 2001 and continues to this day. The Iraq War began in 2003, and also continues currently.

Though very few Americans realize it, the United States has officially been under a continuous State Of Emergency since September 14, 2001. President Obama has extended Bush's Proclamation 7463 for the 16th consecutive year, giving him broad powers over the organization of the military.

......this has just begun to broach the subject. Thank you.

  6. You should remember it by thinking of all the police, firefighters, and EMS providers who routine get shit on, dumped on, short shafted and cursed out by the people that serve.

You should remember that even though so many in this city hate what they represent, hate them for doing their jobs, that nobody cares more about the city residents than the public safety employees.

    And that is no joke.

  7. I was living in a half-way house, with a bunch of other crazy bastards, & watched it go down live on CNN. One of the retards asked me who I thought would do such a thing. I said, "al Qaeda." Like I said, I'm crazy, but then the retard says, "Why would they do such a thing?" "Because we support Israel.", I answered. "Well, what do you think we'll do about it?" He was able to process all of this excitement very well "We'll kill a bunch of women & children who had nothing to do with it. Remember, the terrorists died."

Like I said, I'm crazy, & only a crazy man would believe that it was exactly what it appeared to be. No conspiracy, just some crazy bastards yelling, "Allah Akbar" while deliberately flying an airplane into a building.

  8. Forget about it. It was staged by an old Texas hat. All the families affected became millionaires. The rich got richer. Sadam never had weapons of mass destruction. Military people sacrificed for oil, which the area is controlled by Whites. So, it's the same story, different day. Unnecessary destruction of human life at the hands of an inherently violent race of entitled people. Nothing new. Nothings changed.
