TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! BIG MONEY EMERGENCY ORDINANCE FOR KANSAS CITY CONVENTION CENTER ACCESSIBILITY!!!
Here's just a bit of ongoing insight into this move . . . There are HUNDREDS of miles of public sidewalks in Kansas City that do not meet ADA standards but City Hall is starting it's big compliance push with another tourist attraction . . .
Take a look at a big upgrade for Bartle Hall:
#160718: Authorizing a $ 3,439,250.00 contract with Turner Construction for the ADA Facility Improvements at the Kansas City Convention Center project; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.
Again, accessibility is a good thing and maybe more than a quarter million in signage alone is a good price . . . Meanwhile other parts of KC still go without sidewalks.
You decide . . .
the 24 million need a place to go.
ReplyDeleteThe convention center has to be one of the ugliest complex of buildings in the world. I drive by there daily and it is frequently deserted. How much longer do the taxpayers in KCMO have to pay for that monstrosity?
ReplyDeleteAin't it amazing how a one horse town can be one fucking giant emergency and survive? Thank God you are funding it.
