The GOLD STANDARD of Kansas City political chat makes a return to local television tonight in order to offer just a bit of discussion on local current events.
Here's what started the conversation . . .
"Mike Shanin interviews Wyandotte County District Attorney Elect Mark Dupree about his priorities when he takes office. Then Gwen Grant, Lisa Johnston, Ron Freeman and Steve Mirakian discuss the upcoming retention vote for Kansas Supreme Court justices, next year's infrastructure and streetcar expansion elections in Kansas City, Missouri and media bias in this year's presidential race."
Take a look:
You decide . . .
There is ABSOLUTELY a bias in coverage and the detractors against Trump can't argue against it. As long as the media covers up Hillary's health and her e-mails, there is simply no truth happening in this election.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Trump should show his tax returns but Hillary should also show us the rest of her e-mails.
Anything less is nothing but spin.
^^^^ Trump has been given more FREE coverage than any other candidate in modern media history.
ReplyDeleteIf she wins, cancel the party in the USA.
ReplyDeleteA single Conservative outnumbered on the panel again. We need to do better than that KCPT.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing the assumption is only the white man could be conservative? There are definitely two conservative guests.
ReplyDeleteDump Scott Parks on Ruckus and KMBZ.
ReplyDeleteThere is no place for a bigot/ homophobe on either .
Fire Parks !
The infrastructure bond would raise property taxes, which means all the existing TIF plans would get a massive windfall.
ReplyDeleteWhy is nobody, including this blog and its fans, telling that story?
Maybe cause it's not true. There's a problem with having a 4th grade understanding of simple municipal finance and an 8th grader's access to the Internet. Guess that never stopped this blog before, though.
ReplyDeleteIs it FACT time?
ReplyDeleteBeginning August 28, 2014, if the voters in a taxing district vote to approve an increase in such taxing district's levy rate for ad valorem tax on real property, any additional revenues generated within an existing redevelopment project area that are directly attributable to the newly voter-approved incremental increase in such taxing district's levy rate shall not be considered payments in lieu of taxes subject to deposit into a special allocation fund without the consent of such taxing district.

Maybe the city should quit subsidizing underused, unnecessary and unsustainable infrastructure in the Northland until they can pay to maintain their own srpawled out road, sewer, water, electric systems.
ReplyDeleteNorthland = leeches
