KANSAS CITY GIVES NEWSPAPER PUNDIT PALTRY FAREWELL CHEER!!! AFTER STAR CAREER KAPUT: WHO CARES WHAT YAEL ABOUHALKAH WRITES NEXT???
Some of the brighter denizens of our blog community note that the end game for a career dedicated to Kansas City newspaper journalism doesn't include a lot of fanfare for even the highest ranking members of the profession moving on to his next phase of life.
To wit . . .
FOMRER KANSAS CITY STAR WRITERS YAEL ABOUHALKAH ASSURES HIS PALS ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT HE'S GOT HIS MORTGAGE PAID AND HE'LL BE BACK TO RAGE AGAINST TRUMP AND BROWNBACK!!!
Here's the note for those who haven't seen it . . .
Money line . . .
Yael: "And FINALLY I get to say what I really think about Sam Brownback and Donald Trump. "
The question . . .
WITHOUT THE DAILY PRINT NEWSPAPER TO BACK HIM UP . . . WILL ANYBODY CARE WHAT YAEL WRITES/BLOGS/TWEETS!!!
The outpouring on Facebook/Twitter was nice but we've all seen stripper birthdays get a bigger response. Meanwhile, only one mainstream media news outlet covered the dismissal and that was because the fellow journalist worked with the guy for about twenty years and they share most of the same demographic background.
In the era of clickbait digital news mostly focused on celebrity and niche interest . . . The Kansas City columnist opinion-maker is now an officially a LOST profession right up there with a pinsetter and Blockbuster employee or so it seems given the lackluster amount of public interest in the conclusion of a career that spanned generations.
I will read him. I will support his blog.
ReplyDeleteYael ROCKS!
Empty theater, Norma.
ReplyDeleteHe will have a great twitter following that supports him. Just like Ashton and Kim Kardashian.
ReplyDeleteI cannot unseen that photo.
ReplyDeleteMake it stop.
someone will think he is cute and suck his titties
ReplyDeleteIS DAT WATCH YOU WHITE PEOPLE BUTTS CALL A TRANNY ¿¿
ReplyDeleteHey guys , make no fun of him , he looks like the old QUEEN THAT owner of the shit out hole Diebels on the Plaza , my boy friend ¡
ReplyDelete8:10--- I'm with you.
ReplyDeleteIs that thang an Uber Driver ? I need a Ride ¡
ReplyDeleteDid JE Dunn fire him? Goes to show you, suck is not enough! Glub!!!
ReplyDeletePut out to pasture.
ReplyDeleteThe savings and severance will run out and dwindle quickly Yael.
ReplyDeleteYael had a great career at the Star. Tony has this blog. Who is the winner?
ReplyDeleteI think KC needs a paper and blogs. Why make it one or another? We should encourage the city to be as informed as possible.
Deletehad a great career, and soon to be forgotten and irrelevant.
ReplyDeleteWhat normal person takes such glee in another person's job status? It's not like Yael is going to be unemployed long, or not be busy enough to generate 28 blog posts in one day.
ReplyDeleteYael is the winner obviously; this whole post makes Tony sound really
...creepy.
You're counting TKC daily blog posts and commenting @9:36PM but say that the blog you're stalking is the creepy one? Why then, pray tell, are you lurking so late at night?
DeleteAngry liberals are a dime a dozen. I wish him luck.
ReplyDeleteI heard the Examiner will hire him shortly. He's tight with executive editor Sheila Davis, Karl Zinke and former editor Dale Brendel. They'll throw him a bone.
ReplyDeleteif you really want news w/o all the bs log on to tnoys kansas city. he has never heard of a senser
ReplyDeleteMaybe he should just move to Kansas, so he can work against Brownback.
ReplyDeleteI'll read it!
ReplyDeleteSurely he will have learned something from the Star and apply to the city for a huge tax break before he goes belly up.
ReplyDeletemaybe he'll run clean to central america.
ReplyDeletethe ultimate #fael is getting fired.
ReplyDeleteThe daily Brownback bashing got old very quickly. Why pay someone to write the same thing everyday?
ReplyDeleteyael had a good run. I only wish they would have found a better way for him to leave. Seems like they treated kraske as lot better.
ReplyDeleteAbouhalkah will now unleash his real feelings about Brownback and Trump? I'll bet he's a big fan of both but the Star made him say bad things about them.
ReplyDeleteHis obsessions have made him predictable and irrelevant. The only people who will read his blog are those who already agree with him.
Adios insider M Efffer. You destroyed many people, payback is a beotch
ReplyDeleteLet's dig his grave with a spoon so we can enjoy this.
ReplyDeleteHis obsessions have made him predictable and irrelevant. The only people who will read his blog are those who already agree with him.
ReplyDeleteaka Tony's Kansas City.
^^^ So you agree with TKC?
ReplyDeleteYael Abouhalkah’s firing is the best thing that has happen to journalism in America since Mike Wallace got the shit kicked out of him in Chicago during the 1968 Democrat convention or since Peter Jennings smoked himself to death.
ReplyDeleteGood point, 4:30. If "The only people who will read his blog are those who already agree with him" and 2:46 is reading the blog, then 2:46 must agree with TKC.
ReplyDeleteOr 2:46 could be the pride of Coffeyville.
I wish Yael the best but his opinions really didn't resonate in KC. He was out of touch with what people really wanted to read.
