Feeble Sales For Kansas City Techweek?!?!

Sadly, despite a great deal of ongoing hype regarding the so-called "Silicon Prairie" . . . There doesn't seem to be too much demand for the constant local seminars touting the startup scene that still hasn't created many jobs.

Take a look at a word from a very smart local keeping track of this stuff:

"Techweek is coming, but they still have FREE tickets to give away. So much for the tech industry in Kansas City . . ."

  1. Even in our short attention span society, hype can last only so long and the half-life of grandiose announcements actually gets shorter all the time.
Breathless tech announcements, TED talks, entrepreneurial breakthroughs, rah, rah, rah.
Sly's bubble has been leaking hot air for quite some time and the rush will only increase as one "project" after another fails to live up to their over-hyped original claims.
    How's Mike's new hotel coming?
    What about the streetcar extension?

  4. Does the KANSAS city ATHEIST COALTION have a position on this?

Do they have a position on anything other than bashing the International House of Prayer young people?

Do they even have a position on bulk mail?

  5. One of the employers sponsoring this fest is a big supporter of you Tony. Also I used to date one of the former VP's there and I don't want to have anything to do with.
