TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY TRASH TALK!!! BROOKSIDE RAGES OVER WASTE MANAGEMENT SNAFU AMID EVIDENCE OF CITY HALL NEGLECT!!!

This morning Brookside is livid over the current state of waste management in Kansas City and they're talking trash over City's Hall's due diligence or lack thereof amid this hot mess.

To wit and because we strive to make it hot whilst reminding ourselves that it's trash day and we need to finish this post quickly or live with snack cakes wrappers and coffee cups strewn about this basement . . .

CHECK THIS EPIC REPORTING WHICH REVEALS BROOKSIDE ANGRY AT CITY HALL OVER ON ONGOING WASTE MANAGEMENT HOT MESS!!!

Thankfully, the story features just a bit of activism in order to solve the problem without any help from elected officials.

Take a peek:

Brookside Residents Furious over Trash Problems and Being Spurned by City Hall Fix the Problem Themselves.

Over the last several weeks trash collection in Brookside particularly south of 63rd street has been spotty at best. There have been weeks where trash has piled up for over 5 days. Bags have been ripped open by stray dogs and cats attracting vermin and disease. Calls to 311 and 6th district council members have resulted in nothing.

Fed up with this and fed up with a city government that is completely uninterested in fixing the city's many worsening problems, John Murphy a CFRG co-founder and Armour Fields Homes Association board member contacted A LOCAL WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY to find out what exactly was going on. Here's what transpired: THE COMPANY informed him that after A RECENT ACQUISITION the US DOT required them to conduct a thorough drug screening test. THE LOCAL WASTE MANAGEMENT COMPANY found out that 56% of its drivers could not pass the DOT required drug screening test, which meant that they could not work. What's even more concerning is that the COMPANY THAT HELD THE CONTRACT PREVIOUSLY had not been conducting its required tests putting Kansas City Residents at risk. It seems that KCMO conducted no due diligence. . .

Murphy met with executives last week and they agreed to have drivers brought in from around the country to help out while they recruit new drivers and train them. In addition, Murphy introduced them to the KC Chapter of the National Urban League who will help recruit and train new drivers.

It is beyond me as to why our city council members or staff at city hall didn't do this weeks ago. It'll be interesting to see who at city hall jumps in to claim credit.

  1. Garbage, schmarbage. Why sweat the small stuff when we can proudly say we have a streetcar?

  2. So for all you drug warriors you may want to rethink unless you wish to haul your own trash.

  3. Basic services are so 20th Century. Eco-devo is where the money is.

  4. Why can't KCMO do ANYTHING right?

We can't clear trash or pay police but we're building a streetcar. Sounds like messed up leadership once again. Who elected these people and when can we throw the bums out?

  5. 7:38 The Chamber of Commerce elected these people and there is nothing you can do about it except move.

  6. Waste Management was brought to NYC to get the mob out of the trash business. They did and now many wish the mob was back.

  10. Better title: Brookside becoming a dump. Might be time to move to Leawood.

  11. I don't know what is funnier, the "GARBAGE MEN ARE ON DRUGS!!!!" aspect of this, or, the fact, that no one has called anyone a racist for automatically assuming that the "GO TO" organization for the recruitment of Garbage Men would be the National Urban League.

    Jesus...

  13. Of course none of this will make it into this year's city services survey. 99.999% satisfaction baby!

  14. Developers and consultants (friends of the city hall crime machine) don't make millions off of basic city services.

  15. KCMO is just another crumbling American city beset by endless violence and poor municipal services. More and more so every week. It's really a shame, considering how KC could be one of the most pleasant cities in the Middle West. But you have to be delusional to live there, if you have the option of living somewhere else.

  16. Another city that has been controlled and run by Democrats that is clearly on the decline in basic public services.

  17. Come on out to Joco! In my niehgborhood, we use Superior Trash Service, the locally owned company run by the man who USED to managed Deffenbaugh, working with Ronnie, before he was crippled by Shawnee Mission Medical Center. SO glad my HOA switched our contract to Superior.

    Better service.

That said, the trash bidness has changed of late. Back in the day, when Dennis Moore was Ronnie's lawyer and the laws were different, they imported Mexicans. Locked up their passports, put them in communal housing, 10 men to a little house, ringing the Johnson County Landfill. Once a week, drove them to Olathe to a Pricechopper to buy supplies, including lard and corn meal and flour. They could only stay 9 months a year, had to return for 3 months a year, always Jan/Feb/March.

Now I hear the law changed. So trash companies must hire locals, American residents. Make America Great Again.

Personally, if my career was working on a trash truck, I'd smoke dope too. And who cares. They drive five miles an hour. Sounds about right for that recreational drug...

    1. Your cunt is a trash truck, Tracy - everything gets thrown on it and it gets hosed out maybe once a week.

Plus we can smell it coming down the street with the windows closed too.

  21. Trash sit out all day in the southland....although we are told to have it on the curb by 7:00 a.m.-----Not picked up until 4:00 p m. or later. What a joke. Trash left in the street..when they do pick it up.

  23. In Raytown, you hire the company of your choice. Guess what? They are all great because they know they must earn your business. Flynn's Raytown Disposal is awesome!

  24. Why not tell us why people like to comment on things that don't concern them, oh wise one? May they, like you, have nothing better to do.

  25. With the dindus running rampant in the streets with guns, who would have the guts to pick up the trash in those areas anyway?

  27. Looks like Atlanta radio is picking up some of our trash by the name of Lisa Carter.

That fat assed bitch stopped fucking her husband Dale, then got mad at him when he sought relief in bed of a another.

Maybe they like fat gals with no sex drive in Atlanta.

  28. Wasn't it just a few months ago that Tracy was trash talking the leaders of her HOA.

Something about they wanted a threesome with her and she was to busy still with Hearne and Gayser

  29. 6:27 (aka Craig Scholes, a Tony troll now married to the FORMER HOA President, Krista Turner).
No, Craig, as you well know, we have a NEW Board of Directors.

Previously, I wrote a post about Krista Turner being the worst HOA president ever. Which she was. Mean, sloppy, biased, operated illegally, and was months late on the basic tasks. Had nothing to do with Hearne, etc.

Krista Turner (Scholes?) was so incompetent she darn near screwed up the transition of the contract, potentially forcing us into a five year renewal, because she didn't cancel in time. And then she also failed to inform Superior about the new start date. So they had to scramble to find and deliver the carts--This caused BOTH companies to have to run the route for two weeks. Deffenbaugh ate the cost of that--to maintain good will. Good for them. Not a good handoff. And something that shocked many. Big Krista is apparently still a compliance lawyer for a giant Top 10 company in downtown KCMO.

She wisely chose not to run for office again. At the annual meeting, I praised the old board for getting the contract switched from Deffenbaugh to Superior.

Turner and Scholes cut their honeymoon short to attend the annual meeting our our HOA. Who does that???? She tried to scold the audience and me, of course, but was not allowed to change the set agenda. One would think a contracts and compliance attorney would know Roberts Rules of Order. No one has seen them since. The new HOA board has moved on.

  30. Back in the Psychedelic 60's in our Strawberry Hill hood (and all of KCK if memory serves) we were allowed to burn our household trash. Most families had metal barrels, but plenty of us had stone or brick incinerators adjacent alleys. Of course, safety regulations dictated the assigned dates and times; area volume and flame height; and, especially materials permitted for burning. Mom's empty AquaNet and Endust aerosols were verboten, but the older brothers and such couldn't resist the tossing in occasional canisters.

Once in a while, garden hoses or pumper rigs were necessary to put out a blazing parched lawn, home or detached garage. Our neighbor's barrel of ashes reignited overnight, and accidentally burned a telephone pole. The call brought our fire Capt. dad and crew to extinguish the glowing wood pole in our alley. I was mad when Mom wouldn't let us open the backdoor so the 8 of us (that includes our dog) could get a better view. She said something about smelly smoke, but we knew it was her big hair curlers--she NEVER let non-family see her in them.
