"Lee's Summit became the latest city to pass a Tobacco 21 ordinance – prohibiting the sale and purchase of tobacco products, alternative nicotine products and vapor products to those under age 21 – following a city council vote Thursday. The ordinance takes effect Dec. 1 . . . Lee's Summit joins Independence and Kansas City, which approved ordinances late last year . . ."

Undoubtedly an important public health effort and another small win for the nanny state.

  3. Further proof that being elected to public office makes you dumber than tree stumps. If 18-21 year olds are competent to vote, let them vote whether to ban sales of nicotine products to persons in their age group. If the purpose is to ban tar-nicotine products, there is no reason besides legislative arrogance to ban vaping products as well.
