He is a Kansas City treasure.
ReplyDeleteWhy do we subsidize Iibraries? Shouldn't private industry pay for them if there is demand?
ReplyDelete"Then, the Kansas City Public Library came calling: they wanted him to solve some of the financial problems that “the library thought it had but it didn’t, really,” he said.
ReplyDeleteHe agreed to be the interim director in 2005. It turned out the library had the opposite of a financial problem. They had some leftover money from a capital campaign, which they used for programming."
Mr. Kemper may not consider himself a civic leader, but many area residents have come to trust his judgment and word.
ReplyDeleteGreat respect for an individual is perhaps the highest compliment one can offer to them.
I have great respect for Mr. Kemper and appreciate his civic service.
Letters and numbers answered.
ReplyDeleteWhat is he talking about? Nothing done.
ReplyDeleteA lot of uncomfortable silence. RIF mobiles? More library card availability and usage? More parents as teachers groups. More mentoring? Where will it be 5 years from now?
ReplyDeletePLEASE Crosby, become the next Mayor of KC. You would certainly excel and Kansas City would be all the better for it..
ReplyDeleteNo way the Chamber boys are going to allow Kemper to hold any public office.
ReplyDeleteHe 's a nice man.
ReplyDeleteA Republican Mayor of KC? When pigs grow wings.
ReplyDeleteThere is such an animal...Google it. Historically, the probability is conceivable. So, after the library, mayor? Interesting. A life well lived.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that.
