TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! KANSAS CITY POLICE CONVERGE NEAR TOY TRAIN STREETCAR LINE AMID SPATE OF DOWNTOWN GUNFIRE!!!
The morning after our blog community offers us FIRST LOOK AND FAIR WARNING of more violence along the embattled toy train streetcar line.
Here's the word . . .
"Please caution your readers to be careful when thinking about riding the streetcar. At around 10 pm last night I heard 5 or 6 shots and 5 minutes later there where dozens of police cars at East 6th Street and Grand Blvd. The site of this shooting is less than a hundred yards from the trolley track."
The image is EXCLUSIVE to our blog community but the testimony is backed up by mainstream media reports this morning, strangely without mention of proximity to Kansas City's latest and greatest streetcar effort:
One person was injured in a shooting near a liquor store in Kansas City, Missouri, late Sunday night.
One person injured, multiple vehicles hit with bullets after shooting
And so . . .
TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY GUNFIRE NOW CONFRONTS LATE NIGHT TRAVELERS ON THE TOY TRAIN STREETCAR LINE DESPITE MSM ATTEMPTS TO DOWNPLAY THE DANGER!!!
You decide but don't say you haven't been warned about the reality of public transit life amid this Kansas City Bloody Summer of 2016 . . .
be fair now TKC. There are a lot of shootings on the bus and nobody seems to care. Why should the streetcar be any different?
ReplyDeleteI think even Sly has mentioned this, the crime is killing Kansas City. No kind of real progress can be made if we don't deal with crime and violence in our city, it'll ruin economic development scare people away. That's why it should be the foremost issue that the city tackles before anything else.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping the Kc was experiencing less violence lately. How is that concealed carry law working for you? If KC wants to pretend its the wild west, this is the kind of thing that will continue to happen!
ReplyDeleteCCW holders aren't the ones doing the shootings
DeleteWill the streetcar extension be bulletproof?
ReplyDeleteStreetcar proponents came to Northeast to tell us the streetcar would make Independence Ave safer. The claim was that increased foot traffic and better lighting would reduce opportunity for crime but in reality, it was code for "everyone who lives in affordable housing within three blocks of IndependenceAve would be priced out of their homes," plus we didn't even know they were going to commit officers to the streetcar like the two east patrol officers that we have to go without to ensure the safety of streetcar riders.
ReplyDeleteThis is directly related to the toy train, but the dead tree media is covering it up. Several witnesses are reporting that the shooter screamed "Durka, durka, durka, clingyclangydingydongy War on Carzzzz!" right before opening fire.
ReplyDeleteCertainly it has nothing to do with the liquor store, because there were never any shootings there before the slave train of death. And it definitely has nothing to do with the cars the shooters drove there in, or the one the victim was driving. Cars are inherently good, and they are in the constitution.
Nothing has changed. KCMO is a murderous hellhole after dark. Still. Now there's an expensive stainless-steel trolley to help catch bullets. That's nice. But of no significance whatsoever.
ReplyDeletePeople are down there riding that thing after dark? What are they, fucking morons?
Lying Bryan with the new big lie. "Streetcars are stealing our police!"
ReplyDeleteUnlike large cities where people have to take mass transit because of conjestion, huge parking fees, traffic, etc., Kansas Citians don't need to take a toy train. We can easily get around the city in the safety of our own cars.
ReplyDeleteYet, thousands ride it every day...
ReplyDeleteYou sad little boys lost this one. Get over it. People love the fucking thing.
8:58: two east patrol officers are dedicated to streetcar. Streetcar is nowhere near East Patrol. 100% true.
ReplyDelete^^^^ Thousands more ride the bus at a much lower cost. You lost the extension vote, you'll lose again.
ReplyDeleteman this is the truth.ihad a bit of a drug problem about 15 years ago and i used to cruise all over the east side to buy my crack from street corner dealers.it was off the charts dangerousand i got into some really hairy situations..from the day i got sober i have never went downtown ,eastside, any party district ,period after dark.many times during the day to work, because i have to but never after dark!!
ReplyDeletemy point is who in their right fucking mind (which i was not) would go out after dark in kc? im talking anywhere in kc?? fuck its scary enough being out after ten in the fuckin burbs..you stupid asse's..anyway ,thats all oh and kids ,stay off dope.
KCMO is well on its way to having at least one-third the number of homicides as New York City, which has a population 16 times as large.
ReplyDeleteAGAIN.
Meanwhile the mayor's "task force on crime" continues its desultory meanderings and dog-and-pony shows, a tiny percentage of the metro's population continues its fascination with a 2-mile long amusement park ride, the council wrestles with liquor licenses, and the great speculation is whether the next mayor of the city might be gay.
Navel gazing at its very best.
How's Mike's hotel coming?
Those 24 million tourists are going to need more places to stay.
Toot toot. Don't shoot! Clunk.
ReplyDeleteSly should require notices to be placed at each streetcar stop warning the tourists that they will be riding through a high crime area.
ReplyDeleteI rode the streetcar Saturday night around 11:30 pm and it was full of obnoxious drunks. There were no security officers on the trolley to maintain order. A very unpleasant experience.
ReplyDeleteLiar, ALL THE EAST PATROL OFFICERS WERE ON THE TOY TRAIN! Brain Stalder said no so, and he's a police expert cartooner.
ReplyDeleteRE: "..strangely without mention of proximity to Kansas City's latest and greatest streetcar effort."
ReplyDeleteSILLY!!
When any new business goes in within 100 yards of the ToyTrain, it was definitely because of the ToyTrain.
But when anything bad happens within 100 yards of the ToyTrain, it was completely unrelated to the ToyTrain.
Happy to clear that up for you.
10:46 am – correction. There are no new businesses within 100 yards of the trolley just overbuilding of taxpayer subsidized apartment buildings and hotels.
ReplyDeleteThis time the stray bullets bit cars in the area. Next time it could be the streetcar. The trolley folks need to step up their security efforts.
ReplyDeleteCan we all just admit that most of the streetcar supporters are paid to do so?
ReplyDeleteA little honesty in KC would be nice once in awhile.
Just a matter of time till someone gets robbed and mugged on the streetcar.
ReplyDeletePtiiing Ptiiiing SCEEEEEECH CLANK RUN!!!!!
ReplyDeletemugged is called jacked ,now
ReplyDeleteWell, being warned is being armed. At least people can consider alternatives.
ReplyDeleteDear Ms. Allen at 8:30am,
ReplyDeleteYou're exactly right that not much good can happen in a neighborhood or community if crime and violence aren't seriously and consistently addressed and residents, businesses, and visitors all feel some basic degree of personal safety.
But Sly's been mayor now for over five years, and the number of homicides, much less less serious crimes, haven't decreased in KCMO in all that time. He seems a bit slow to understand, if he even does, that all the grandiose rah rah that residents have been subjected to for the last five years doesn't actually accomplish much if people are correctly concerned about their safety at home and in public places.
And public safety is the highest priority of any level of government.
And Sly is the nominal head of KCMO's.
Reality and facts can be stubborn things.
I heard they melted down all the policemen's bulletproof vests to build the toy train rails!
ReplyDeleteNo surprise that the extension to Independence Ave failed. However, the extension to 51st & Brookside will probably happen and be made to happen just to piss off Clay Chastain.
