Just a reminder that our toy train confronts continued traffic trouble and challenges on violent local streets.

KCTV5: KC Streetcar service delayed due to wreck
Deets:
The wreck, which happened at Truman Road and Main Street, does not involve a streetcar.
It's unknown how long service will be delayed. No word on if there are any injuries yet.

Solution to this is to get the cars off main.
ReplyDeleteJesus, SO FUCKING WHAT???
ReplyDelete^^^^ So, it's not very reliable.
ReplyDeleteIt only goes two miles or so. Get off and walk your feet are isually pretty reliable

Take a bus.
ReplyDeleteWho cares? So some hipsters or poor folks were late to some meaningless activity. Despite the few delusionals who actually consider this "public transportation," it's little more than an amusement ride. Hell, a ricksha could be called public transport, but I wouldn't count on one to get me to an important appointment. When KC has something like Chicago's el or New York's subway, we'll consider it public transportation. In the meantime, the streetcar is as relevant as a tram at Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteTonys Kvetching Cunts confirms...no cars or buses (they just found out those exist) have ever been delayed! Kickass relevant tipsters! What a scoop!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, in real Kansas City, over 400,00 trips have been taken on the toy train no one will ever ride...
Gee. Someone should invent a form of public transportation that would not involve fixed rails and would allow more maneuverability. Perhaps it could be called a bus.
ReplyDeleteHow much of an inferiority complex can a little mid-west town possibly have that it gets this ga ga over a 2-mile streetcar that provides nothing in the way of real constructive transportation and certainly has nothing to do with the beloved notion of "economic development".
ReplyDeleteWhat a scam the folks at 12th and Oak have pulled on the residents.
And what rubes they appear to be that they could have bought into all the hype and empty promises in the first place.
Not much left now but watch how poorly the streetcar is run, managed, and maintained.
Just like everything else the city owns.
Has Sly firmed up his appointment in the Clinton administration yet?
Or do the taxpayers have to keep on paying for him to try to bring attention to himself?
