This is the first I have heard of this story. Has anyone heard the other side of the story from the business owner? Just trying to verify if it's actually a gender issue or if there is more to it.
ReplyDeleteI believe in equal pay for equal work, but you have to consider longevity also. The story doesn't reveal that the male employee had been with the shop for some time, hence the increased wage. You just can't walk into a job and instantly make the same rate that a trained employee makes. Nice Democratic approach to life.
ReplyDeleteYes, the business owner had responded by firing the manager that did the unequal pay from what I have seen.
ReplyDeleteI can see the DNC is going to solve all the world's problems with unequal pay while the Obama administration fails to enforce a single existing law that already requires equal pay between genders in like positions. Sounds like they are going to be confessing their sins, not fixing the problem.
ReplyDeleteThe story I read was that they were both hired at the same time. I read it last week on Fox news or News Max if my memory serves me correct
ReplyDeleteSo, why was she paid less?
ReplyDeleteThe old excuse was always because he 'has a wife & kids to support'.
