A note on weekend plans from our pal Craig . . .
British Invasion! Stanford and Sons This Weekend
Steve Hirst, born and raised in Manchester, England will be invading our club this weekend. Stanford and Sons, Rosana Square 119th and Metcalf. Hirst became of note years back in England when he began to do Benny Hill type comedy and even, lite his butt on fire on youtube. Nuts, right. Steve became a fixture on FX and Comedy Central in Europe and then brought his madness to the States.
Hirst is off the wall, a former pro boxer and roughneck from the motherland. Hah. He has the accent and the vibe to go with it. Hirst likes to compare the English life to the one we have here in America. "In England the Queen Knights everyone....even the Spice Girls, now I feel safe." Its gonna be a fun weekend with Steve and crew.
Next week Julian McCullough, the very handsome and funny star of 'Guy Code' a regular on Chelsea Lately, Whitney Cummings and now you see him often on 'Inside Amy Schumer.' Also coming up Auggie Smith Tonight Show regular and Big Jay Oakerson, Joe Rogan Show...look for cover story by Jon Niccom in KC STAR on former KC gal who got her start at Stanfords, Nikki Glaser, with her own hit show on Comedy Central. Yes there will be some nice things in there said by yours truly. Have a great weekend.

DeleteI just got back from Stanford's, bought the VIP tix, seated right in the front with my girl. We split the Dr. Pepper Ribs- 5 stars!!!! the cokes were filled to the top and came with no ice as I requested! The comedy was top notch and England is right up there with all the poop and piss jokes as any american comic.
