This weekend, Lee's Summit will be celebrating the suburban good life with what some are describing as a risky bit of animal cruelty.
Here's the notice: "Plan to kick off the summer during the annual Downtown Days…Streets Alive! festival, from Friday to Sunday, June 6-8, spanning six blocks in the historic and award-winning Downtown Lee’s Summit central business district. Live entertainment, food vendors, a new carnival, a white tiger exhibit, craft vendors, a car show, a fashion show"
In the aftermath of zookeepers killing Harambe the gorilla the reax to this exhibit has been fierce and is growing more intense . . .
KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY INSIDER: "Already many animal rights activists are saying it's wrong for Lee Summit to host a caged White Tiger exhibit at this weekend's festival."
In fact, we asked a few questions about this to our suburban tipsters and they note that there have been a recent flood of e-mails asking for this part of the tradition to come to an end.
