Take a look at the world according to Kansas City newspaper hacks . . . Close watchers of this show might lament former Pitch dude Steve Vockrodt hinting at the so-called "East Crossroads" solution to help 18th & Vine subsidy now stalled.
Not a lot new here but for those who wanted to know what and how the newspaper thinks . . . Public TV spends about a half an hour quizzing this all-white barely middle-class folks about their opinion of the world they no longer shape.
Appropriate for Friday night when everybody else is out checking their phones and social media for all the info that's much more important to them.
You decide . . .
An informed yet very boring discussion.
ReplyDeleteCredit to Nick Haines, he is really doing his best to spice up the conversation.
I thought Lynne was unusually good this time around. She needs to be on this show more often.
The east crossroads thing you're talking about is at around minute 22.
ReplyDeleteTook me a while to place the plan and I'm glad he's not a very good spokesman for it.
But the idea that Sly can spend millions upon millions to try and create a demand where none exists is a very dangerous game. There's nowhere in the city where this is working and I'm glad the council is starting to see otherwise.
Maybe preaching to the choir on public TV but I found the Brownback coverage really leftist and biased. I guess I shouldn't expect more from public tv.
ReplyDeletechecking their phones and social media for all the info that's much more important to them.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
KC has been a news vacuum for awhile but there's hope now that some national sites have stepped in to fill the void. I notice that I am much more impressed when the New York Times covers a story than when I see it on the Star''s horrible site.
ReplyDeleteyou pretty much missed the big story out of Lawrence then
ReplyDelete^^^^ Define "big" please. Buying a newspaper in a college town MAYBE matters to 30 people, 40 tops.
ReplyDeleteniggers shot a woman and raped her child. what the fuck are you talking about
DeleteIt was informative without all the bluster of a blog. Good watching for those who really want to be informed about Kcmo. If that wasn't true that Tk wouldn't have linked it.
ReplyDelete10:05 for the truth.
ReplyDeleteKC journalism makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteNobody cares what newspapers think except newspapers. For 99 percent of the toothless rednecks it is just ass wipe. The only thing that is more legacy than newspapers are bloggers who keep giving them credibility.
ReplyDeleteWord has it that Brownback is going to request a 300 percent tax increase on the media. Since they are the ones screaming about how bad tax cuts are.
ReplyDeleteThe Star is way left of most Kansas City residents, one reason they are dead.
