TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! TRAGIC KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR PLAGUED BY SECOND DAY BREAKDOWNS!!!

So here's what the Kansas City mainstream media is ignoring amid their weekend of hype dedicated to all things promoting the streetcar.

Take a look:

THE TOY TRAIN STREETCAR BROKE DOWN SEVERAL TIMES TODAY AND SLOW SERVICE KEPT SWEATY CROWDS OF WHITE PEOPLE FRUSTRATED AND WAITING!!!

Our blog community was the FIRST to note bad reviews for this local transit as a snail's pace and now here's one more bit of bloggy testimony . . .

Pleasantly Eccentric: KC Streetcar breaks down. Complex backup plan – walking

Money line . . .

“The streetcar in front of us has broken down. We are waiting for the car to be removed so we can continue.”

All of the doors towards the right side of the car suddenly opened and then a police officer came jumped on board. He told us that the car had a door problem and that we all needed to get off the car. He mentioned something about buses coming, but no real details were given.

People left the streetcar.

Some took pictures with the broken down streetcar.

Some had the officer take their picture with the broken down streetcar . . . "

Video confirmation for the skeptics among us . . .

A question and lack of a plan . . .

A toy train lament . . .

And so . . .

THE REALITY IS THAT THE KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR IS SLOW AND BUSTED ON SATURDAY!!!

Sadly, none of this eyewitness testimony made it to the local news today and instead a constant stream of hype continues.

All of this inspires another playlist for our busted train tonight . . . And yes, the songs are mostly about the bus.

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  2. Hate to break it to you TKC but the problem here isn't with the streetcar but it's with the line.

IF the line were bigger THEN we could have more transit options. But as long as we're stuck with this smallish line then we can't really expand mainstreet and make it a transit hub. This will change soon. The voters will help us expand the line. That is what needs to happen.

  3. How much did all of this cost? $100 million for crap streetcars.

Why wasn't city hall doing some quality assurance?

    Once again KC gets screwed.

  4. is this really a complaint about somebody who just had to walk a couple of blocks? KC is home to complainers.

  5. Cheap train. of course it broke down.

  6. LOL, the train craps out and Stanford's was giving free tickets away on Craigslist for the yuk yuk club. I swear you can't make up ignorant shit like this.

  7. Hey Gribby, it is new. It is engineered to go up a couple of blocks then go back. In reality it is the Grand Old Duke of York. Neither up nor down.

  8. The voters will help us expand the line.

    LMAO!

  10. What's a few million dollars? These things were made to break down. That's how the economy keeps growing with these things. The repair bills and hours create jobs! Silicon prairie my ass! This is the new Detroit! Motortown headed for bankruptcy.

    1. Thanks Pat Klein for dropping with your petty commentary. Nobody knows who you are either. There's a story behind that as well.

  13. Quick, send Sherri McIntyre on a city funded vacation to Spain to figure out how to fix it.

  14. Streetcar = train to detroit

  15. This is no more than a very expensive and foolish carnival ride. It doesn't matter that it only serves an extremely small portion of the city's population and it is clearly a whim of a handful of politicians who want this nonsense to be a part of their legacy. Nice going, you have wasted - and will continue to waste - millions of dollars on this ridiculous venture, not to mention ruining downtown. Wonder how long it will be before they pull up those tracks and put the cars on the auction block. Maybe they can use that money to fund something that will really benefit the citizens of KC.

  16. Is that former City Manager Wayne Cauthen in the first photo / video w/ the hat????

  17. The tracks were not built to any kind of specs. The train was jostling so badly that electronic components failed. Also the "smart kiosks" are running Ubuntu and they are failing and go into auto-update because they are mis-configured.

When you put mentally defective people in charge of your city these are the kinds of results you can expect.

    Fail. Fail. Fail.

It didn't have to be this way.

  18. Carnival ride quote NAILED IT!

the trolley is really just touristy crap.

  19. Anything built by NIGGERS will suffer this same fate..

  20. How the streetcar actually operates and whatever it accomplishes is all beside the point.
    None of it matters.
What's important is that the urban futurists have made their mark in KCMO, the millenials have their toy, the consultants and engineering and construction companies have made their bucks, the lawyers have done well financially and have shown KCMO residents how clever they and Sly can be, and Sly's plan to launch himself into big time politics is underway.
Operations will get worse and, since KC doesn't maintain much of anything it owns, reliability will head downhill in a hurry.
The notion of "Go for KC" that what's needed is to expand the cost and incompetence has been typical of the transit crowd from the beginning.
    Huffington Post article done.
    Mission accomplished!

  21. Broke down on day 2? That is unacceptable. For those of you that haven't seen it, check out the multi-million dollar maintenance facility just East of the River Market on 3rd St. Pretty damn nice for a maintenance facility.

  22. Oh shit, I guess this means it's the end of the streetcar.... This is coming from the guy who cried like a bitch & thought his blog was over when he was faced with a defamation lawsuit: http://www.kcconfidential.com/2011/08/18/hearne-will-kc-firefighter-louie-wrights-lawsuit-mean-the-end-for-tonys-kansas-city/

  24. 5/7/16 - 11:20 the cheerlead captain from Kissing Coons' Cocks wants all TOY TRAIN TROUBLES stories swept under the rug (no, not meaning Glaze). Yeah, that blog known for criticizing another for rayciss commenters, sure does the double standard with misogynist CUNT calling.

  29. In the meantime we have faster and more reliable buses serving the same route as the streetcar and the entire metro. But the racist white millennials won't ride a bus. It's beneath them so we have to spend billions for expanding the streetcar line so they won't have to slum themselves by riding a bus.

    ReplyDelete
  30. TKC, I'm hoping your bud, Craig, will do a write-up here after a ride on that streetcar. He's fair and balanced in about everything I've read of his. Blending a serious and snarky slant would be just like his style, as he's shown on alot of topics. Bet plenty of others would enjoy the read.
