Continuing our TKC local alternative media mission . . . The mainstream newz attempts to offer a bit of May Day explanation with a juxtaposition against a Springtime celebration of flowers.
This morning at TKC . . .
CHECK FIRST WORD FROM KANSAS CITY PROTESTERS AGAINST CAPITALISM, POLICE AND THE PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!!!
From Citizen Media . . . A brief intro about May Day from their perspective:
"As momentum builds toward the May 1st Alabama prisoner strike and the September 9th national prisoner work stoppage, Kansas City workers, ex-workers, ex-prisoners, unemployed, under employed, and students gather to celebrate May Day Eve. After an early dinner in the park they hold a noise demonstration outside the county jail and then head to Power and Light to raise awareness about this holiday that is widely celebrated in every country in the world except for the US, Canada, and Australia."
Take a look at their clip:
Juxtaposition and a realization that these kinds of protest will only increase as the American middle-class fades . . .
New Statesman: The sad slide of the American middle class
Roll Call: Trump's Dominance Draws on More Than Angry Middle Class
Seeking Alpha: Where Does America's Middle Class Go From Here?
The Atlantic: The Secret Shame of Middle-Class Americans
Alter net: There's a Dark Future for America Coming If We Let the Middle Class Disappear
Agree or not, it's important to realize these kind of protests are gaining a foothold in the American discourse. Think about it: The Democratic Party has moved further to the left than anyone would had ever imagined and many unabashedly advocated socialism during the campaign primary. Meanwhile, the GOP is embroiled in an outright struggle against the party system status quo in an attempt to find a leader more firmly committed to populist rage against immigration and political correctness . The traditional ideals of the modern American political system are in decline and this kind of May Day direct challenge to the system continues to gain, ground, exert political force and shift the conversation.
You decide . . .
And to think, this small crew shut down trump when he came to kansas City.
ReplyDeleteJust when you think these endless "activists", protesters, and marchers can't get any more irrelevant and lame, along comes another "cause".
ReplyDeleteStill waiting for them to march and demand special rights for the black Jewish lesbian bicycle team to be invited to the Olympics.
And local wannabees are particularly pitiful.
Oh, the humanity!
Ahhh the lovely socialists. College students, prisoners and ex cons, bums and folks that just don't want to work for anything less than 60 grand a year.
ReplyDeleteYou know, the people that have always had everything provided for them and can't understand why they aren't given even more.
Fuckhowser will be on in a moment to extol their virtuosity.
The Baby Boomers were like a plague of locust that devoured everything and left nothing.
ReplyDeleteMiddle Class has meant nothing since Queen Victoria died.
ReplyDeleteidiots
ReplyDeleteThey are smart enough to know there is no safety net, no jobs no health car, no decent nutrition and there's ten thousand of them in Jackson County.
ReplyDeleteThey're totally fucked, you got a point.
ReplyDeletemore taxpayer bailouts for Democrat greedy UAW slobs!
ReplyDeleteMore than just these folks shut down Drumpf in kc. Drumpf has protesters everywhere he goes. He insults and people respond. No big surprise there.
ReplyDelete^^^^Hired protesters you mean
ReplyDelete7:44 is right. Those pukes should get off of their asses and go to work for George Soros. There is a lot of money to be made in the suppression of Free Speech and the Right Of Assembly. Two concepts that are anathema to the Progressive/Fascist/Obama/Brown/Shirt violent Left, who seek the destruction of America and hate white people.
ReplyDeleteNow, as never before, you can monetize your self induced Liberal willful impercipience and turn that bullshit Progressive propaganda into Propaganda Of The Deed. Blood will flow from the cuts, bruises, wounds (Gun Shot, maybe coming, we can all hope...?)and abrasions delivered with righteous indignity to the non-believers. ONWARD SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS! Now with clubs, spears, fists and soon guns, you will smite those who support vocally issues and positions that the Main Stream Media and your Democrat overlords and "Thought Leaders" find are not Fascist enough. You are given now, what you have always wanted, "Room to Destroy" and the de facto permission of the Progressive politicians and 4th estate to not only engage in violence in the suppression of those differences of opinion, but be assured that the story will be, as it always is, twisted so that the victims of this violence are blamed for the violence.
Keep something in mind though, brave warriors, there are still a few Paleo Free Speechers out there, who, when confronted with your sanctimony will blow a fucking hole right through your fucking chest.
Let me try my Sunday morning best at a internezt goofiness and cleverness comment.
ReplyDeleteYour choice is street cars, and a new airport terminal. It's the future! Look at property values!
There are NO other options! What is it about that you citizens don't understand!!! Consultants looked at it and no other options exist!!!
Chuck for President !
ReplyDeleteThose anti-Trump Soros-hired thugs didn't stop the pro-Trump rally, but they did assault innocent horses.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the big deal?
ReplyDeleteIn 2008 Michelle Obama gave a speech in which she said "....do not aspire to middle classness".
But it's ok for her to emulate Marie Antoinette
slappy is hot.i will fuck her
ReplyDelete@ 6:32 ....
ReplyDeleteMommie issues?
Nah, he just watches porn. ^^
ReplyDeleteHow have this missed all the prosperity and wealth offered to the general public the past 10 years?

Instagram. The picture sharing site only launched in 2010.

Hopefully somebody's herd of pit bulls will get loose and ruin their MAYDAY MAYDAY!!
ReplyDeleteIn reading the articles about a depleting and shallow middle class, it's easy to see why Trump is cleaning up. You do though need to clarify Tony that even though Sanders and Trump supporters want a change to the system and seeing our politicians get rich via PAC and special interest money, all the while not giving one fuck about the people they "represent ". Trump and Sanders supporters are polar opposites. One group wants to get back to a strong middle class with money in the bank and the other doesn't want to grow up and face the real world the way the middle class trump supporters have to daily. If you look up who's gotten more rich during these times you will see that it's bankers and others that should be under the fucking jail for causing the 2008 crash. The only one in jail is Bernie Madoff and that is because he stole from the 1% that has fucked us for generations. The only way the 1% gets rich is by interest made from borrowing via credit cards. Cut them up, pay cash for shit and do not live beyond your means. Simple really.
ReplyDeleteThis is more proof of the impact of Obams's subtle plans coming to fruition. He's the offspring of Marxists and wants America to be destroyed. Bernie and Hildebeast will further these plans. Be ready for bloodshed in the near future when true patriots and traitors clash In a struggle for control of the fate of America.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope Obamy declares 2016 the year of the screwball. Otherwise we might give the wrong impression.
ReplyDelete10:23, what crimes did "bankers and others" commit leading up to the 2008 financial crisis that should earn them jail time? Be specific.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see most of the top administrators at HUD and FNMA behind bars, but only to confine their stupidity in a place where it can't harm the public.
10:23 here. Watch the movie the big short and it can clarify why banks are responsible along with others that include wal street. Banks were lending money on homes of $300,000 or more to people with a combined house income of $60,000. They stuck them in loans with an arm on it that lowered the payment until that arm rate was over thus tripling the house payment.Mind you, those buying the house should have known this and are just as responsible but banks were making money and didn't provide disclosure that if you can't afford that $1200 payment now, you sure as hell won't be able to afford the $3600 payment when the arm rate is done. Banks knew that if their monthly gross income is $3200/month how can they afford this payment. They didn't care, they were in for the quick money only.

ReplyDeleteThere is ubiquitous, absolute, incontrovertible, categorical evidence that Goldman Sachs and other Financial Institutions sold Mortgage Backed Securities to unsuspecting buyers at a time, that those same Financial Institutions KNEW that those financial instruments were insolvent. In fact, they shorted their own products.
Lloyd Blankfein and others, should be in jail.
HUD and FEMA crimes were crimes of the altruism in combination with ignorance. There is an ocean of culpability on both sides of the aisle but real malfeasance from politicians in this case, is surprisingly absent. Both Republicans and Democrats wanted folks with lower incomes to be able to purchase a house, the American Dream. It was a huge fucking mistake, but, they had the best of intentions in general.
The Government's forays into the private sector (You can keep your doctor) are usually a disaster.
10:23 comments are pretty accurate in my opinion, but leaves out many variables that come with a nation, now experiencing a multiculturalistic Balkinization wrought upon us by the Progressive Federal Government populated by the new demographic and Leftist apparatchiks now in control of our fate.
America, is now, that painting by Salvador Dali-- The Civil War, once again.
America hates you white boy.
Sucking Millinials tryng to be big shots and destroying the whole damn countgry in the process.
ReplyDeleteThank God Obama punished all those corporations and forced them to bring back the jobs they send overseas. Oh wait that is another promise Barrack baby forgot he made. I guess that is why he says TRUMP is full of shit for making the same promise to bring jobs home? Sounds like he is projecting to me. The difference is TRUMP has the balls to make it happen.
"America hates you white boy."
ReplyDeleteThat's absurd.
Here's the history of May Day, by an actual historian.
The next revolution will be fought by a coalition of the disenfranchised, not whining, white muddle class pussies who think the "American Dream" is an entitlement.
We're not a 'free country' when we have the largest prison industrial country on the planet.
Tell the coons to stop acting like criminals. Jesus, how hard is the math?
ReplyDeletechuck you'll cheer up as soon as football season arrives
ReplyDeleteyou can watch and jack off to all your favorite jigaboos again.
youre gonna be ok,lil buddy
plus if the new baby mama beater is any good, you can go out and snap up his jerzy,to wear to your favorite jock-sniffin beer joints!!
Byron it's not the middle class that thinks they are entitled to anything. They are tired of lowlife gemethats like yourself demanding and taking what you never earned. Get help cock breath.
ReplyDeleteThe Poor, Pitiful Poor's war on America continues. Guys like Byron won't be happy will we're all losers like him.
ReplyDeleteFace it, in 2016 if you have a good job, good house, good car, married with kids and a strong work ethic your the enemy of the Poor, Pitiful POOR.
As Chuck said, America Hates you White Boy.
11:18 and 12:06 - I acknowledge that people can look at the same facts and come to different conclusions. There have been multiple analyses by serious thinkers about the cause of the 2008 crisis. I happen to think that a major cause was misguided government mortgage lending policy, which led federal agencies to pressure lenders to lend to people who could not qualify for loans under traditional criteria. I found Peter Wallison's book "Hidden in Plain Sight" compelling on this point. The idea that no bankers were prosecuted, convicted and sent to jail following the crash is wrong - several dozen were, but none of the big fish at the big firms. I can't believe that ambitious prosecutors would not bring a case against the big fish if they felt like they had a winning case. But, selling a security long and at the same time shorting it has been and is still done all the time, as a hedging technique. Was it a hedge or was it fraud? It's debatable either way, but a prosecutor has to prove it was fraud beyond a reasonable doubt, and they apparently concluded they could not do it. Finally, don't cite The Big Short as authority for anything. It was just a movie. Hollywood rarely gets anything right, because it deals in drama not messy and complicated reality. In this case it's based on a book, which gives the movie more credibility than it otherwise would have, but no more than the book itself, with which some reviewers have agreed and others have disagreed.
ReplyDeleteBring that "coalition of the disenfranchised" Byron, with you at the tip of the spear.
ReplyDeleteYou of all people whining about "entitlement".
The next revolution, the one you think you want Byron, if it happens, will feature wanna be "Social Justice Warriors dead, stacked like fucking firewood in the streets after actual middle class folks who work for a living figure out that the Rule Of Law is defunct and there is no danger of going to prison for using common sense.
Be careful of what you wish for.
America Hates You White Boy.
11:51 - You were right, I was wrong. I quit the NFL last year, no gambling anymore on pieces of shit.
Social Justice Warriors were their moms generation.
ReplyDeleteThe Middle Class in America has been taken off of life support because the Owners of this country do not need its services any more. I recommend anyone doubting that our country has owners watch George Carlin’s famous American Dream routine on YouTube. 94,031,000 people in the United States of working age adults are not working; they have given up. The factories are not coming back and the President Obama wants to dump 10,000 Syrians into this country. 10,000 people who will dependent on government support and if they do find work, it will be unskilled low paying work who do you think will lose their jobs to the “refugees”? Donald Trump will not ride in on a big white horse and save America; the Owners will not allow that. We will get from the next POTUS what we have gotten for the last sixteen years: more war, more jobs going overseas and more unemployment.
ReplyDeleteLets all join in a round of verse and chorus in "The Internationale". Some of you might recognize it as the "National Anthem of the old Soviet Union" but it was actually written in 1888 by a Frenchmen named Pierre DeGeyter with the English translation by Charles H. Kerr in 1901. Decades later the Soviet Union picked "The Internationale" for the Soviet National Anthem. Happy May Day and remember not to go to work or hang out with the bosses!
ReplyDelete"THE INTERNATIONALE"
ARISE YOU PRISONERS OF STARVATION
ARISE YOU WRETCHED OF THE EARTH
FOR JUSTICE THUNDERS CONDEMNATION
A BETTER WORLDS IN BIRTH!
NO MORE TRADITION 'S CHAINS SHALL BIND US
ARISE YOU SLAVES, NO MORE IN THRALL
THE EARTH SHALL RISE ON NEW FOUNDATION
WE HAVE BEE NAUGHT, WE SHALL BE ALL!
SO COME BROTHERS AND SISTERS
FOR THE STRUGGLE CARRIES ON
THE INTERNATIONALE
UNITES THE WORLD IN SONG
SO COMRADES, COME RALLY
OR THIS IS THE TIME AND PLACE!
THE INTERNATIONAL IDEAL
UNITES THE HUMAN RACE
Byron stands proud with tears in his blind eyes. ^^^^
ReplyDeleteHe's not blind he just can't see until he figures out how to pull his head out of his ass.
ReplyDeleteByron Funkhouser is a Capitalist and a Democrat. This is clear by his arrogant mode of discourse over the years trolling. Byron is all about American Exceptionalism and American Imperial ambitions. Funkhouser has expressed his eugenics views by the superior offspring he has produced. Ideology that doesn't stand with the radical left internationally. The Democrats are so far removed from the labor movement outside of the AFL-CIA where local perverts like Roger Lake are considered radical left.
ReplyDeletePrisoners gave up their rights the day they committed whatever offense they are in jail for.
ReplyDeletechuck,i knew you'd do the right thing..youre a stand up guy and one of the smartest and funniest commenters here on tkc..
ReplyDeletejeeezuz dude ,i went to ruskin too..where the hell did you pick up the vocabulary??!
You low life Degenerate piece of Communist Shit, don't like it here in this Country, then pack your asses up and get the Sam Fuck out !!

If Socialism & Communism works so wonderful well in those other countries why are so many Fleeing and trying to Escape those countries to come to the US !!
Majority of you communist Bastards have no goddamn clue, your so pathetically un'educated and ignorant its disgusting !
All your really wanting & advocating is that you want FREE SHIT at everybody elses expense, because your to goddamn lazy to get off your ass and work for it - FACT !!
I won't put up with any of you Degenerate Socialist / Communist Bastards rather here or in Public, so you best heed the warning !!!
3:51 He wasn't out back smoking dope?
ReplyDeleteThe America Love It Or Leave it montra has worn thin. Democracy with Communism or Capitalism is not a choice at all. You really don't have a choice to not hear the voices of the young. You like the Soviets have taken away the social safety forcing the young to build a new system of democracy... Finally, third choice
ReplyDelete@6:34PM...I stopped at, "The America Love It Or Leave it montra has worn thin."
ReplyDeleteI knew the rest was going to be to fucking stupid to read so I quit.
Albert Parsons was out of Chicago the night of the Haymarket Bombing where a Chicago Cop was killed. Parson's was on a speaking tour calling for an 8 hour work day. A radical thought even today in many occupations.
ReplyDeleteThere' a lot of shills out there getting by but they are collecting a paycheck and almost everybody has a boss. 75 Percent of the population considers themselves middle class but most of them are six weeks from being homeless.
ReplyDeleteThey Hay Market Martyrs were all scapegoated but Albert Parsons was one of the orators in Chicago, who attracted thousands to a rally near Haymarket Square in 1886, on behalf of worker rights. After police charged the crowd, and a stick of dynamite was thrown, he was one of those arrested and later hanged.
ReplyDeleteHis widow, Lucy Parsons led the campaign to exonerate the Haymarket martyrs, and then she carried on their work. Leading poor women into rich neighborhoods to confront the rich on their doorsteps. Challenging politicians at public meetings and marching on picket lines.
ReplyDeleteThe standard of living under fascism goes down instead of up. Its regulated economy instead of furthering world peace as they had thought a regulated and rationalized economy would surely do, promotes world armament on an unprecedented scale. And man’s intelligence, instead of becoming supreme, is almost completely removed as a disturbing factor in fascist society by being outlawed and sent to a concentration camp.
ReplyDeleteThat's a May Day story to remember.
ReplyDelete3:51 & 5:49, don't know Chuck, but I'll put him at a voracious reader, has a thorough recall and an apptitude for ordered thinking. All 3 traits are admired and envied by the many of us who may have less talent in those regards. My bet is the company he keeps and a life-long learner attitude shows. I look for his snark tinged, or seriously smart words on TKC with delight.
ReplyDeleteThere's no reason why the working class should feel they have anything in common with the ruling class.
ReplyDeleteRuling class? Who's feet did you kiss today?
ReplyDelete"Though others may scoff & sneer, we'll keep the Red Flag flying here."
ReplyDelete"Then raise the scarlet standard high
ReplyDeleteBeneath It's folds we'll live and die
Through cowards flinch and traitors sneer
We'll keep the red flag flying here"
Funkhouser being can't even research the lyrics to "The Red Flag"?
That is the way I was taught to sing it. There is probably more than one version, just as there is more than one translation to the Internationale. The one I like, by Billy Bragg, contains the line "Freedom is merely privilege extended, unless enjoyed by one & all. The main point is that the song was written in reference to assholes like you.
ReplyDeleteThe point is you're a liberal piece of shit Byron.
ReplyDeleteThe US Labor Wars were the bloodiest in World History. Miners fought the US Army in West Virginia, they put bounties on police and Pinkerton Security in Minneapolis. Labor activist were killed by militias and the KKK. Men and Women fought side by side with immigrants who could oversee language barriers. Mother Jones herself marched against Rockefeller's Militia in Colorado. Jones was buried in a miner cemetery while Emma Goldman was buried on the west side of Chicago with the bourgeoisie.
ReplyDelete
