TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY INSIDERS IMPRESSED WITH EPIC FUNDRAISING LIST FOR MAYORAL CONTENDER SCOTT TAYLOR!!!
Our blog community was the FIRST to break news of Councilman Scott Taylor's effort to run for Mayor.
Like it or not, this news may or may not start the era of Mayor Sly as lame duck.
Accordingly . . .
FIRST ON TKC!!! TAKE A LOOK AT COUNCIL DUDE SCOTT TAYLOR'S EPIC LIST OF DONORS FOR HIS KANSAS CITY MAYORAL CAMPAIGN DEBUT!!!
Click this image or this link for a bigger, better view . . .
What we're seeing in this list is Unions, Burns & Mac, law firms, the P&L District, KC Transportation group honcho Bill George and a variety of power players pledging BIG MONEY to start this effort.
The premiere sponsors alone put this party at a value of at least $20K to start the campaign.
Accordingly, here's just a bit of guidance from Kansas City Insiders . . .
"He's got a great list to start out and a lot of money behind him. He's taking a risk by starting out this early but those names that are supporting him will keep a lot of people out of this race."
To wit . . .
LIKE IT OR NOT (AND MANY DON'T) COUNCILMAN SCOTT TAYLOR IS NOW THE FRONT RUNNER IN THE NEXT CONTEST FOR KANSAS CITY MAYOR!!!
Meanwhile, we're hearing about more candidates testing the waters as the upcoming presidential election is putting Kansas City in a politically adventurous mood.
Developing . . .
I wouldn't call Sly a lame duck just yet. The bond issue should pass and from there it's one last try at the streetcar. That is do or die for the Mayor.
ReplyDeleteKC needs a Donald Trump candidate!
ReplyDeleteIf Taylor expects to win any votes, he better start kicking the mayor around and paying attention to the northland where he is vulnerable to challengers.
ReplyDeleteFireman's Union is conspicuously absent. Sherwood Smith must have told Belly and Toxic Tim to save their money to back Mrs. Ed Ford.
ReplyDeleteFront runner!! What a joke!
ReplyDeleteJust as soon as someone else forms a committee, all those same lawyers, contractors and real estate developers (I.e. everyone with their snout in the trough) will contribute to that candidate!!!
Do we need another mayor that is bought and owned by the TIF lawyers, which Scott is one.
ReplyDeleteThey have be contribute to get anything done his PZ&E committee.
ReplyDeleteEvery time is see him, I think of Bart Simpson grown up with a tie.
ReplyDeleteThese are all businesses. Very few people are willing to put their name behind his, and lots of these "supporters" will be supporting other candidates, too. That's how business play politics. It's pretty telling that even the local Democratic establishment hasn't come out to support him and Cathy Jolly so soon.
ReplyDeleteHow can he vote on any substantial ordinance without having a conflict of interest? That's a long list.
ReplyDeleteScott is a great candidate.

Scott is stupid and generally quiet. If we spin him around he will go anyway we tell him to go. He is our guy.
ReplyDeleteI thought he died?
ReplyDeleteHe's a politician. On the take like all the rest of them.
ReplyDeleteVote Trump!
All the TIFs, Tax cuts, and Subsidies you want for only $3000!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you going to run for next?
ReplyDeleteAnd whose snout are you going to invite into the slop trough the taxpayers will be forced to provide?
Same old crap.
And the voter turnout will be in the low double digits.
Again.
KCMO is a world class joke.
His wife is a Class A cunt.
ReplyDeleteThat is uncalled for. You can dislike and even be angry with someone without being mean and disrespectful regarding them.
DeleteWill Cathy Jolly go barefoot like Gloria?
ReplyDeleteAnyone who wants any sort of reform in KCMO can see that Taylor is not their guy.
ReplyDeleteWell, of course Burns and McDonnell are one of his "PREMIER" sponsors!!
ReplyDeleteJESUS!!! They got a city paid-for new headquarters building in his SKC district. They shovel thousands toward political bribes and receive millions in return for themselves.
Blight designation and over-the-top tax subsidies for Burns and McDonnell, one of KC's wealthiest private employee-owned companies.
Do you live east of Troost, with city-owned dilapidated buildings for neighbors, and uncollected trash piling up? Where's your blight designation and tax subsidies? Well, the city will offer you one of those crumbling abandoned houses for $1.00.....that's your Mayor and Council practicing trickle-down economics.
Anybody but Scott Taylor!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can't subsidize a project no one proposes, 3:34.
ReplyDeleteThe East Side had an opportunity to have a streetcar system built primarily in their neighborhoods, paid for almost exclusively by the core city, and they shit on it because Clinton and Kiki and 'Nem didn't "get they cut", and decided they'd rather just keep doing what they've been doing for the last 75 years.
Meanwhile, not a week goes by without a development proposal along the streetcar route downtown, despite the fact that all the downtown subsidize don't equal a fraction of what the city has and continues to invest in the East Side.

ReplyDeleteHere's a proposal for city government:
Make public safety on the east side the number one priority it deserves to be and provide resources, management, and command attention to demand accountability and results from staff, KCPD, residents, and the endless paid nonprofits who are on the city payroll.
City government has some actual public responsibilities way more important than endlessly subsidizing "development", which should and can be done by private individuals if there's any real commercial and financial value to it.
If you know anything at all about the east side, the last thing they need is a streetcar.
Excuse me but YAWN! The election is 3 YEARS away.
ReplyDeleteI support Taylor before I support one of SlyDog's underwear skids AKA Jolie Justus
ReplyDelete^^^ Sly was elected last year. This campaign really doesn't start until next year so we're not talking about the election, just the campaign season. Scott must be scared for starting so damn early.
ReplyDeleteHis forehead is so big, he should use it for a billboard. Jeez, look at that monster. Post no bills!!
ReplyDeleteExpect Wagner to get into the race and possible State Senator Ryan Silvey.
