TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY TALKER JOHNNY DARE SEEMS NONPLUSSED ABOUT ROCKFEST 2016!!!

The clouds are back and it seems that Kansas City will be forced to cope with another muddy Rock Fest . . . No word yet about the cleanup prep for the toy train streetcar given that mud is the least objectionable substance that concertgoers can leave behind.

Still . . .

COLLEAGUES, RADIO FANS, AND A FEW RETURNING PERFORMERS NOTICE THAT KANSAS CITY TALKER JOHNNY DARE DOESN'T SEEM AT ALL EXCITED ABOUT ROCK FEST 2016!!!

Here's a message sent our way . . .

"The line-up is crap but that's true most years. Heard Johnny talking about it this year and it really does seem more like a job and not a labor of love. He hasn't done much press with any of the bands except the obligatory intro spots. He has definitely tuned out according to most people at Entercom. Don't get me wrong, he'll be there and it'll still be the biggest outdoor concert of the year but this time around the mood has changed and now that Dare is pushing 50 and doesn't really seem excited about spending all day with people half his age. I've literally heard the guy talk with more excitement about his low carb diet."

Still, we don't doubt Johnny Dare's ability to summon his radio skill and fake some enthusiasm come game day for what should be another loud, muddy festival of casual substance abuse and nasty port-a-potty sex.

You decide . . .

  1. Sex in the public toilets? Sounds like a typical Kansas City weekend. And I do feel bad for the streetcar cleaning crew.

  2. Dare is a pro. He will do a great job. TKC, you insiders should have told you that he has hated this event for the past 5 years.

  3. ROCK FEST FANS FOR TRUMP!

  4. Can Sly continue his ascent to glory on the noxious clouds of KCMO’s crapified culture, attended by heavenly hosts of Jolie Justus and the cherub David Johnson?

  5. If a woman will have sex in a public toilet. She might not be worth it.

    Just sayin.

  6. Rock fest will move to the speedway next.

    You heard it here first.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Be sure to get there early, you Rockfest pukes.

The lead singer of Festering Taint has promised to douse the fans with a bucket of piss and vomit, and those in the front couple of rows might catch some in the face.

  9. Tony and his large staff of former Star Jounalists (we) thinks Johnny can rise to occasion!

  10. He uses the "WE" to make it appear it's not just himself scraping all the story's off the web idiot. Learn how to blog!

  11. It's schtick he's doing you dolts.

And you fartsniffers have your faces pressed right up tight with flared nostrils taking in his every wet Gordita toot.

  12. Don't blame Johnny one bit for his lack of excitement. The Rock is playing it cheap this year, their promotions have sucked and they were not helpful in getting good acts. Dare is a pro but the people he is working with are not.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Is this post an ad or something?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah, great ad: the host doesn't give a shit about an event. Grow up Widlman! Go back to trolling your "friend" Glazer.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Is this guy a wrestler? We're new to the area.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Wow where from? You need to check out ladies roller derby!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'll tell you this you son of a bitch. I'd rather to to Rock Fest then any of that crap they're playing at the Providence Amphitheater or whatever they're calling nowadays.

  18. There's your Trump VP nominee.

He ain't disclosing hi tax return either.

  19. Everyone is at the games or home watching the game now. The Royals. We don't have a Lincoln Center or Times Square here.

KC has to work on promoting new stuff. Not just doing the same thing year after year.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Sly should be promoting his taxpayer funded Mayor Twerk and Jerk nights as soon as school gets out.

  23. Johnny is ok; he is just burned out some if you ask me. Been doing this gig for a long time and he is worth a ton more monetary wise than that fuck Glazer will ever be. So Johnny has deserved the right to coast a little if you ask me.Johnny has done more for Kansas City than that fucking Glazer could even dream of doing. Johnny raises tons of money for local charities something that ex-convict Glazer never does. And the coolest part I like about Johnny is if he told Glazer to shit in one hand while jacking off with the other hand in the middle of Shawnee Mission Parkway, that douche Glazer would fall all over himself to do what Johnny asked. But even as popular as Johnny still is, it's still not what he use to be. Dare as well as all others in radio has felt the pinch and knows that the money isn't there anymore like it was. Yes, Johnny has lost a little of his star power and his control of how things will be with his show. Hell if Johnny can't get Glazer back into Entercom it either means that what Glazer did is very true, or his ability to make demands is no longer as dominant as he once was. IMHO Glazer did what he is accused of, and even Johnny isn't going to stick his neck out too far for that mess.

  25. 8:16 nails it.

Dare does a great job but that gig is pretty soul crushing. Music has changed a lot since he first got the job and now the job of a DJ has completely changed.

  26. Wendy’s is going to install self-service ordering kiosks at 6,000 locations. McDonald’s is expected to follow at a slower pace.

    Tech is your friend!

  27. I would be depressed too, that lineup is awful. Disturbed is the headliner? They couldn't sell out the Midland. There is a reason so many bands playing in festival settings-it's because so few of them can draw on their own.

  28. There is a reason so many bands playing in festival settings-it's because so few of them can draw on their own.

    Correct

  29. Glazer did nothing. Lozlo attacked our boy. Dare is better with Glazer on his show. Clearly.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dare is still our number one media man in KC. Dare/Glazer best radio ever/ Hope Dare sticks to the Rock.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 10:48 and 10:51 is Glazer no doubt, Lozlo along with many can't stand Glazer either, but Glazer still called a woman a cunt so deal with it. And Craig, stop with the pussy posts, they really make you look like the bitch you are.

  32. I like Johnny Dare. He kicks ass. Rock fest is hit or miss but Dare is always on point.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I still miss Flash & The Cadillac's at Volker Park on Sundays.............

  34. KC loves old rock disc jockeys. Look how it took to get rid of annoying Tanna and Max. They even sued over being fired 15 years too late. Not an original thought between the two them. Bet Sterling grew up to be A-1 brat.
