TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRAT TRUMAN DAYS CUT BACK AMID FADING SUPPORT!!!
A premiere Kansas City event that once attracted Democratic Party elite from throughout Missouri has been forced to cut back on recent festivities according to insiders.
To wit . . .
THIS YEAR THE JACKSON COUNTY DEMOCRATS ARE DOWNSIZING THE FESTIVITIES FOR TRUMAN DAYS!!! A LOW RENT "GALA" WILL SUBSTITUTE FOR A CELEBRATION THAT WAS ONCE A WEEK LONG EVENT!!!
You decide if this smaller party for the super-minority is a consequence of lower enthusiasm and local support for the Hillary campaign or just changing times.
Still, in the current Missouri political climate it's probably a good idea that they got rid of the "hospitality rooms" and all the debauchery that ensued.
More to the point, the event seems to have lost focus according to one Kansas City Democratic Party Insider . . .
"Truman Days was once an important event for recruitment and fundraising. Not anymore. Go to the website and take a look. This year it's nothing but a hand shaking cocktail hour among insiders and elected officials. What's the point? It's barely a decent social occasion nowadays . . . Really more of yet another event to feature the same people preaching to the choir."
Behind the scenes, a leadership change might explain why this year's festivities seems to be "transitional" to say the least . . .
Still, the list of sponsors is noticeably smaller with the usual suspect Democratic Party elite making their annual tribute but far fewer private, small biz and corporate donors.
And so we put it to our blog community . . .
IS THE JACKSON COUNTY TRUMAN CELEBRATION STILL WORTH CHECKING OUT DURING THIS IMPORTANT ELECTION YEAR???
Like it or not, the big picture here seems to be that the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign is a tough sell in Missouri and that's having a negative impact on Jackson County Democrats amid the 2016 election cycle.
#Ready For Hillary?
ReplyDeleteNot really.
LIVE - LATE-BREAKING -INVESTIGATIVE !!!!
ReplyDeleteTruman Days said to have " sucked "
Hummmm, can't get people or donors to come to a drunken party filled with the a small subset of local politicians? Can't imagine why.
ReplyDeleteGOP won the session. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteThe Democratic Party has become disenchanted with the County's name. Shouldn't we change it to Tubman County? Oh wait, she was a gun-totin' Republican. Never mind.
ReplyDeleteBo Jackson County Democrats!
ReplyDeleteTruman was just some cracker who got his start as a stooge and spear-carrier for Boss Pendergast. One of many nonentities who became vice president and then, by unhappy accident, president. He is now entirely forgotten. Except for incinerating half a million Japanese civilians.
ReplyDeleteTruman Days has always been the biggest joke in Missouri. Glad you are finally reporting on it Tk.
ReplyDeleteA drunk-a-thon for consultants and union guys. A tense obligation for everybody else. I had to send my check and apologies that I couldn't make it this year. A small price to pay to avoid that misery.
Why is this not being held at 18th and Vine?
ReplyDeleteThey should have it at East Patrol. Lol
DeleteDemocrats beat Mr. Trump?
ReplyDeleteNot likely in Missouri. Just look at the primary vote. More new voters for Donald Trump that far outpaced support for both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
It's going to be fun watching the libtards' heads explode when Trump landslides into the Presidency.
ReplyDeleteWhen people are honoring a woman for being a committee woman instead of a real elected position, you know that its basically bullshit.
ReplyDeleteWhy waste your time for a event that has the usual suspects.
ReplyDeleteYou will be back here bitching for 8 years because you shits nominated the biggest joke since Goldwater 1204.
ReplyDeleteCool thing about Tony's is you can say anything here.
And she will be coming for your guns.
Truman Days is a feel good for Jackson County Insiders there is no votes their why anyone would waste their time is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteLook at Hillarys totals in Eastern Jack they are not ready either.
ReplyDelete10:33 - your Hiroshima and Nagasaki numbers are wrong. 129-246K Japanese died, including 20K military. It's estimated that a ground invasion would have resulted in fatalities of 400-800K American and 10-20 million Japanese.
ReplyDeleteTruman Days are for the blue hair ladies like Dutch if you are runnimg use that time to knock doors in one block you will talk to more voters.
ReplyDelete^^^ Excellent point.
ReplyDeleteTruman Days could be held in a phone booth
