ReplyDeleteAnd not a single fuck was given. The sophisticated anti-crime tactics on display here will cost money, prevent no crime, and lead to no change. How do we know? Because vigils and candles and crosses in yards didn't do anything either. Start talking to the police when you're not assaulting them and maybe you'll see a change.

ReplyDeleteIf this is really who they were, then why weren't they arrested & charged with domestic terrorism?
The racists say that this is who black people are, but it isn't; this is who a small group of terrorists are, & they mostly pry on the hostage black community who would very much like to be free of them. "No snitch" isn't a code of anything, it's fear!

ReplyDeleteYes, let's have a "call-in" for members of one gang or another, most of who are in their mid-twenties, and who have worked the streets for years.
ReplyDeleteDrugs, prostitution, burglary, robbery, car-jacking, and whatever other ways these thugs "earn" their livings, the money is pretty good and there aren't any taxes.
And the law of the street says that snitching by residents, and especially by your homies, carries a big-time price. Like you end up dead.
At the "call-in" these guys will be offered counseling by social workers and a chance to head on down to the Full Employment Council, which will line them up for a dynamite $8.00/hour job at a Lenexa warehouse.
And their fellow gang members will have endless opportunities to wonder who these converts are talking to and about what.
And the chances of this being successful, outside to the sociology department at your local university, is ZERO.
How many years can jokes like this, Aim4Peace, ad Hoc, and all the rest of the endless list of unaccountable totally ineffective nonprofits and organizations go on.
With endless taxpayer funding.
Nobody has the guts to say "NO".
