The Bike/Walk crowd is mostly on the take for streetcar and this ordinance seems like a clandestine effort to push the project through without a public vote. In fairness, here's how supporters view the KANSAS CITY WAR ON CARS . . . You decide: KCMO Proposed Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Ordinance to be heard Thursday Morning May 26th at 9:30 a.m.

Sounds like business as usual in KC. See you guys at the streetcar expansion ground breaking.
ReplyDeleteClever attorneys, statutes stretched far from their original purposes, a compliant city council, a self-absorbed PR-driven mayor, and residents/voters who have neither the time nor interest in their own community to pay any attention or even vote.
ReplyDeleteThe march of folly.
A city that works.
Just not for you.
What we need is Buffer Zones between these New Urban idiots hallucinating on their craft beer and real people needing to get things done.
ReplyDeleteStreetcar is already falling apart piece by piece two and a half weeks later.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
Yeah, right. Let's make it harder for people to get in and out of downtown. Most of the on-street parking is gone because police take it up - but they've got a newly renovated headquarters with no parking structure. It's really unbelievable how stupid this town is.
ReplyDeleteWhat do the rural rubes Staubio and Johnsons think?
ReplyDeleteDesperately trying to blame the messenger for one embarrassing piece of bad news after another is so blatant and tiresome that it's silly.
ReplyDeleteAnd it doesn't begin to address the fiascoes of incompetence, poor planning, and broken promises that unfold almost daily.
KC is very well-known for big announcements inevitably followed by poor implementation, lack of management, and no maintenance.
The joke the streetcar has already become was easy to predict.
Dickhead Johnson sez this is none of the public's freaking business! So take yo sunshine law and cram it where the sun don't shine!
ReplyDeleteDickhead Johnson
ReplyDeleteLMAO!
keep trolling your own blog Tony, and keep deleting those comments. We can do this all day...
ReplyDelete@8:55 - That's sad. No job? You ever think about starting your own blog? You'd be great! It's really fun!
ReplyDeleteStill, our blog community continues to be the last free speech zone in Kansas City and our anti-spam policy helps keep it alive. So @8:55, you are not entitled to spam and take away the free speech of others. We'll do our best to clean up and set filters but your comment makes it clear you're spamming.
ReplyDeleteYour spamming of the nonsequitur is only revenge, I guess. It has nothing to do with the emerging failure of the trolley. :)
ReplyDeletethe fact that you have an agenda makes you no different than sly and the people who run this city, the only difference is that you have no power or influence which makes it fun to mess w/ you
ReplyDeleteEveryone has an agenda. Sly's plans raise taxes on the poor and he needs to be stopped.
ReplyDeleteUntil the right people are bribed (or end up like Mike Sanders' dad) city hall can't be stopped
ReplyDeleteBULLSHIT! The proposed ordinance will do nothing less than create new ways for local government to waste the tax payers money without accountability. Wont be long til they start robbing the temples.
ReplyDeleteLOLZ.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are too dumb to understand a resolution this simple, Tiny's Kvetching Cunts has a place for you to voice your ignorant outrage!
ReplyDeleteHey is the trolley folly back up and running again? I know we have to be careful in the rain. ;)
DeleteTKC. My hero! I believe in America, I believe in Tony, let freedom ring...
ReplyDeleteToy Train Promoters Last Stand
ReplyDeleteLet the war begin!
All people want to know is how to make their property values go down by a third or a half like they do in the Downtown TDD.
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the comment spam around here? TKC fans wanting to prove they've been reading for years and year and years. All day and all throughout the night.
ReplyDeletePathetic.
Here's what I know for sure.
ReplyDeleteTony doesn't mind one bit when you attack him or write a negative comment challenging his opinions.
But cutting and pasting the same thing over and over is something that all the regular readers of this blog know is spam and that's something that screws over this comment forum and everybody else who wants to leave a comment.
Call TKC on his bs, bring up some of the MANY mistakes this blog has made but what I see is a lot of people promoting other blogs and just repeating the same thing over and over and that ruins it for everyone else on this blog.
Just my two cents but I'm pretty sure that if people who are spamming just left their attacks against TKC and wrote them out they would be more effective at creating a discussion than just trying to deny the rest of us our speech too.
Damn good point 10:28
ReplyDeleteMy orientation is not interested in transportation interests. My orientation is not interested in tax breaks for people who want to put high rise development at every other corner and then demand that a form of transit be built for the people who will be moved into the rabbit hutches.
ReplyDeleteI can walk almost as fast as the trolley. My bike is twice as fast with out effort, as the trolley. The bus takes me from Plaza to City Hall in 23 minutes. Transit should follow development not the other way around.
I am tired of listening to Planners talking about development of Transit Nodes when what they are talking about is tearing down existing development and redeveloping so the profit and property changes hands.
