CELEBRATE THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST AND HORRIBLE ADVICE TO THE KANSAS CITY CLASS OF 2016!!!

Once again a hopeful gathering of graduates embarks upon their future in Kansas City and our blog community would like to share some words of wisdom garnered from the wealth of experience of people who don't have anything better to do than troll the Internets on a Saturday night.

We'll keep it short and sweet like all of the single-moms in the current graduating class that are soon to find even more limited dating options with a baby in tow.

But I digress . . .

Here's the only useful tidbit we can offer . . .

TRY SOMETHING NEW CLASS OF 2016!!! DON'T BE AFRAID TO FAIL IN ORDER TO SEARCH FOR SOMETHING BETTER!!!

Students shouldn't be afraid to reinvent themselves in much the same way that former School Board "savior" AJ Crabill abandoned the district and took off to Texas with a new name after none of his promises came to pass.

Like it or not, the class of 2016 is full of survivors and the fact that the most notable KCMO 2016 graduate was a poor, young woman who was murdered shouldn't dissuade scholars from chasing their dreams.

It doesn't matter that the district remains only partially accredited or that the meddling of so-called "progressives" and administrators has been recorded as one of the greatest failures in education history.

Even in the era of upcoming Chinese hegemony and the death of the American middle-class . . . There's still hope and certainly more to look forward to than any negative online trolls would allow youngsters to believe . . . Odds are graduates have effectively learned to navigate the pikers and creeps online far more effectively than most so-called "grown ups" if they've made it this far.

As always, we'll steal the best advice to graduates and d-bags of all ages from noted scholar Rodney Dangerfield in his magnum opus . . .

"Always look out for number one, and be careful not to step in number two."

And all this inspires our playlist tonight . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  2. Better advice:

Leave Kansas City and don't buy all the hype about a creative class and jobs created by development. They really don't exist and only serve to strengthen the position of power brokers and the status quo.

  3. Why aren't all the big companies flocking to relocate to KCMO the entertainment and amusement haven?

  7. No reason for KCPS graduates to stay in Kansas City. If their parents and family really loved them, they wouldn't have let the graduate from such a horrible school district that did a poor job preparing them for the future. Sail on students. Kansas City is a wasteland and just getting worse.
