The schools, the roads, the poor, everybody & everything is sacrificed to create an environment that's conducive to this mythical job creation.
Biggest mistake was failing to put up an effective border fence during the Civil War, when it became obvious that being next door to Missouri wasn't the exactly a plus for Kansans.
