TKC MUST READ!!! NORTHEAST NEWS: CITY HALL DESTROYS NEIGHBORHOODS AND BREAKS ARTSY IMPROVEMENT DEAL!!!

Kansas City's recent effort to destroy abandoned structures seemingly did more to anger local communities than improve neighborhoods.
Accordingly, here's a community news report once again confirming that promises made @ 12th & Oak can't be trusted . . . And the tragic aftermath of an effort that was supposed to involve urban core residents working to beautify their community.
Northeast News: Board Games
Money line . . .
"The city simply doesn’t honor or value the will of the people. Case in point: the Nelle Peters apartments on the Plaza and the city’s hasty abandonment of the Plaza-Midtown Area development Plan, which called for preservation and adaptive reuse of historic structures. In short, the city caved to developer threats of protracted litigation if the city didn’t approve some hot-shot developer’s plan to raze the structures.
"This time, though, commitments made by authorities at the Land Bank and city attorneys to director of Northeast Arts KC Rebecca Koop to save the window dressings at 3512 Independence Avenue were not honored, and the publicly produced art pieces were sold as part of the demolition contract."

Nobody can trust anything that Sly says.
ReplyDeleteIt's been one deception after the next for five years.
Not hard to find the name of the fool that bought the artsy work. All city property transactions are public record. $600? Funny!
ReplyDeleteLyin' Sly James
ReplyDeleteCan't Sylvester James just give every citizen a healthy TIF, Tax Incentive, and Tax Abatement?
ReplyDeleteSeems to work swell for all the well to do developers.
God forbid that these art treasures would be lost to the ages.
ReplyDeleteI mean, they are right up there with the Mona Lisa.
Demolish it.
Trash it.
Speaking of tear downs. May first starts the massive removal/remodel of 800 houses. My calculations say it will have to be 6 per week to meet the City's self-imposed deadline. Now that the e-tax has passed, watch this project pass into vapor.
ReplyDeleteWell KC, just keep electing shit heels and complaining that crooks are crooks. At some point there will be the sting that 'causes the peckerwood rednecks to put down the beer and remote for 20 minutes and actually vote. .....maybe
ReplyDeleteRemember the East Patrol debacle. The City razed an entire neighborhood in Third District unnecessarily when they could have used vacant land to accomplish the same end. The City does not care about its citizens. E-tax was renewed by the people to continue this tradition. Thanks for playing!
ReplyDeleteCity has nothing to do with this in a sense.
ReplyDeleteIt is the slum lords that own the properties and do not take care or the upkeep of them.
City should come down on the owners of the properties that are not being taken care of.
They keep raising rents and let their properties go to sh*&^
I wipe my nigger ass with the Northeast News.
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why.
Cheap basterd. City Hall is equal to fuck ups and let downs. Always. Just to what degree.
