TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! ELECTION DEBATE CONT'D: HICKMAN MILLS SCHOOL BOARD COURT FIGHT HEATS UP!!!

An iconic image of Jordan Carver reminds us that a good education is still the key to a successful future . . . More to the point, only very smart dudes can get a hottie to pose for pix on their desk AND women without an education will be forced to make their living in lingerie or worse . . . Waiting tables.
But I digress . . .
Here's the more important point . . .
THIS MORNING WE'VE GOT FIRST WORD ON AN ONGOING SCHOOL BOARD CRISIS IN HICKMAN MILLS!!!
This is important for a lot of reasons but mostly because a lot of very dedicated and hard working residents of EVERY demographic are working diligently to keep the Hickman Mills District from going the same way as the KCPS.
Some of the best and brightest denizens of our blog community warn us that this is "More drama, more politics and less about education."
Accordingly . . . Here's the word BEHIND THE SCENES DEETS from insiders describing the sitch:
On 4-19-16 TKC reported that the Hickman Mills “School Board reelection votes were close but now that the fight is settled, hard feelings remain.”
"More than hard feelings remain and the board won’t let it be settled. With the ouster, by the community, of the current board president, there is the possibility that the superintendent will lose his bloc of votes. If a fight is to be had, it should be between the winning and losing candidates. Instead, the board has decided the will of the people doesn’t count and will be using tax dollars to take the issue to court.
If it’s not bad enough that the will of the people is being ignored, the losing candidate, as board president, gets a free ride with tax dollars being used for his defense. Meanwhile, the winner, an outsider, has to use her own money to defend herself.
This is just one more example of how this district sets the wrong priorities when it comes to spending tax dollars. Perhaps that’s why the community voted to elect an outsider."
Thanks to AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS for this note and we hope to keep following this story
Developing . . .
Hickman mills is the last stand. We've got to save it for a lot or reasons but mostly to show that we can work together as a community and put the students FIRST instead of making everything about elected officials trying to gain the upper hand.
ReplyDeleteBetter title for you tk, "Hickman hanging on by a thread."
ReplyDeleteKCP(O)S here we come!
ReplyDeleteHere's the rule in news TKC, when you start worrying about a horrible outcome like that, it means it already happened. The public just hasn't realized it yet.
As usual, high on the list:
ReplyDeletePower
Ego
Self-importance
MONEY
Low on the list:
Educating young people so they have a chance for decent productive lives.
It NEVER changes.
ah yes the precedent setting court case of Nig vs. Ger.
ReplyDeleteGiving these nigger ferals the same rights as human beings was a big mistake. We should probably reverse that don't you agree Tony?
I understand the superintendent is weighing in on discussions. While this isn't a school board issue, it most certainly isn't a superintendent issue and he should stay out of it - unless he's advising the board to stay out of it which their attorney should actually be doing. This seems like another instance of the superintendent running things including the school board.
ReplyDeleteAnother bunch of herkimers fighting for power in the "Big Fish Little Pond" scenario.
ReplyDeleteHickman has been Kcps II for a long time now. This election proves it.
ReplyDeleteAs a long time resident, with kids who graduated from the HMSD, it's sad to see how fast the district has declined. The huge waste of money with the recent bond issue, the board so out of touch with the community - thinking they work for the superintendent. And maybe most of all the superintendent himself, demanding his way and bullying anyone and everyone who might get in his way. HMSD is probably too small for his ego.
ReplyDeleteschool board is ruining hickman. They need to go.
ReplyDeleteAmen to 5:51. Hopefully, he's still sending out those resumes.
ReplyDeletethe district wwas a hell hole thirty years ago ,when i was forced to go to school there.
ReplyDeletei can only imagine what great strides it has made!
