TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE CONFRONTS INCREASED SCRUTINY AND CRITICISM AMID HIGHER KANSAS CITY PROFILE!!!
In the past couple of weeks City Manager Troy Schulte has stepped up his media game far more than he has in years past.
The City Manager recently took the lead in touting millions worth of subsidy for the 18th & Vine District and this week hundreds of calls were directed his way in a telephone town hall meeting.
Behind the scenes, it seems as if Mayor Sly is using this administrator as a lighting rod for his controversial development focused agenda. During the hotel debate and amid a great many airport Q&A sessions, City Manager Troy was front and center pushing forward the controversial projects.
Accordingly . . .
CITY HALL INSIDERS ARE PUSHING BACK AGAINST CITY MANAGER TROY PLAYING PITCHMAN FOR MAYOR SLY!!!
Here's the word . . .
"The City Manager is supposed to be an administrator, not a salesman. Seeing him at one event after another is a good indication that he's not busy enough doing his job. It's obvious that he's just taking orders from the 29th floor. Troy would do well to remember that he doesn't just work for the mayor. He also works for the council. He has 13 bosses, not one."
This point is exceptionally relevant given the recent departure of aviation dude Mark VanLoh who was called out as a problem by the council during a recent meeting with the airlines and then subsequently announced his "retirement" less than a week later.
Accordingly . . .
LOOK FOR THE COUNCIL TO PUSH BACK AGAINST CITY MANAGER SCHULTE WORKING SOLELY AT THE BEHEST OF MAYOR SLY!!! HIS NEW CONTRACT IS QUICKLY LOSING ITS LUSTER AND COULD BE CUT SHORT GIVEN A RECENT FORAY INTO LOCAL POLITICS!!!
Like it or not, high profile press conferences, public appearances and media statements put the job of City Manager at risk amid growing neighborhood, small biz and community complaints about how the city is being run.

ReplyDeleteThe root cause is Mayor James playing politics with all of city hall in a way that is sinking KCMo further into debt.
The city manager's office is nothing BUT politics. They only really seem committed to protecting their staff. They hope the mayor can protect them but that might not be so easy in the coming months.

She's such a relentlessly coarse and nasty person, who confuses shrill rudeness for strength, that she can't get anyone except Terry Riley and Tony to listen to her. If she weren't such a crooked and foul person, seeing her reduced to utterly out-of-touch ineffectual whining would be heartbreaking. It's not the 90s anymore, though, so whatever petty power she once had has evaporated in clouds of scandal and decades of misbehavior, and she so daffy she thinks the 10 Trump voters who read this blog and litter it with the same comments over and over and over ad nauseous are a "base". ReplyDeleteFor the most part I think Troy is a competent executive but a deal with Sly James is a deal with the devil. Just ask Russ Johnson, Jim Glover and Cindy Circo how their collaboration with James went. He used them up and ruined all of their careers. Any public partnership with James is massively one sided. That's how he has made his entire career.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that Troy Schulte put Pat Klein in charge of Aviation. Klein has ZERO experience in running an airport! If this was an open recruitment at any other big airport, Pat Klein would not survive the first cut in weeding out applicants.
