Chris Moreno Becomes First Latino Elected Official In Lee’s Summit History
Lee’s Summit, MO. – Today, City Councilman Chris Moreno will be sworn into office becoming the first Latino elected official in Lee’s Summit history.
Chris Moreno received the most votes of any council candidate in Lee’s Summit this year, winning solidly 54% to 36%. His campaign was supported strongly by the Lee’s Summit Fire Fighter Association and the Lee’s Summit Police Officers Association.
“My wife and I were raised in Lee’s Summit, and are proud to raise our children in this wonderful community. I am blessed to have the trust and support of 4th District voters; and am honored to be a part of history,” said Councilman Chris Moreno.
Councilman Moreno will represent Lee’s Summit’s 4th District, which serves close to 23,000 constituents, and is home to many schools and parks, including Legacy Park. Lee’s Summit is the 6th largest city in the State of Missouri.
