Credit to Jackson County prosecutor Mean Jean Peters Baker for sending a message with this this bit of alleged child endangerment crackdown.
Checkit:
KMBC: The father of a toddler who died after accidentally shooting herself in the family’s home last week has been charged with second-degree murder.
Deets from Fox4 report:
A news release from the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office said the daughter “shot herself in their residence.”
Block told police he kept a loaded handgun in his residence, according to court records. He said he heard the victim crying and saw his handgun on the floor next to her. He then reportedly picked up the gun and walked to the bathroom to conceal it before he walked outside with the victim and alerted a neighbor, who called police. Officers found the handgun in a bathroom floor vent covered by a child’s t-shirt.
KCUR: Missouri law allows a charge of felony murder when a death results in the perpetration of another felony, Baker explained. Block was already charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
At one point during the news conference, Baker held up a handgun secured with a gun lock.
“This is the gun lock we're willing to give you for free if you just ask,” she said.
Accordingly . . .
Already we hear there are community complaints about the Prosecutor's office overcharging in this accidental death that now stands as yet another Kansas City homicide and reveals the many gunfire dangers confronting local youngsters.
Developing . . .
With a parent like that, the tot is probably better off dead. Rip.
ReplyDeleteCommunity complaints? That pretty much says it all about Kansas Shitty.
ReplyDeleteThe community consistently complains that killing of unarmed black children must be stopped but asks for leniency when is a black on black. Mental illness in this same community goes unchecked and rationalization of these types of thoughts are acceptable, when it should be medicated.
ReplyDeleteI hope the judge at his trial after he's convicted knows the meaning of "consecutive sentences".
ReplyDeleteLooks like something Byron would sire
ReplyDeleteJesus, we have the ultra-rare black father that is involved in his kids life but the kid dies from baby daddies gun.
ReplyDeletefucking shame that this is the way we learn about the gun lock program.
ReplyDeleteFuck that 5:17. They have been giving away locks for over 25 years.
ReplyDeleteWill someone give media camera hog Peters a pie hole lock? It could save the public from an onslaught of her never ending bullshit.
ReplyDeleteJPB and her staff don't have a chance of successfully prosecuting the murder charge. Big headlines and news conferences now. Later they'll accept a plea deal for lower charges, consecutive sentencing and credit for time served and have a printed press release with no other comment. Thanks JP.
ReplyDelete5:17pm Anybody buying a gun should and would - for the sake of their family, would know about firearm safety. Not having a gun lock for a firearm you purchased is nobody's fault but their own. Plus, guns normally come with a gun lock when purchased new.
ReplyDeleteThey took money from TMCBH to pay for toy train. They are making patients go down to bare minimum on meds to nearly none. That's why you got more craziness walking and talking to themselves and answering back. They're cutting back meds....the Dr's were told to. Look at the budget. They took millions away from mental health. It is not summer nor hot yet...look out folks!
ReplyDeleteJeez is the zoo missing a gorilla?
