COWTOWN FORD TOUGH TIMES: 4,626 KANSAS CITY AUTO WORKERS CONFRONT TEMPORARY LAYOFF!!!

Tech trouble and shrinking production numbers amid the global marketplace make life doubly harder for these auto worker locals. Also, the too big truck made in Kansas City is kind of a piece of junk.

Here's the latest . . .

"Ford Motor Co. said it would idle the F-150 operation at its Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo to fix a mechanical problem at the body and paint shops that is hindering the plant's ability to reach production targets.

The 4,626 workers on the F-150 side of the plant will be on temporary layoff the week of May 9, returning to work on May 16."

Meanwhile, Chinese tech firms are muscling into the electric car game and threaten to subvert American progress in the future of the international auto industry.

Sad that car manufacturers have recalls. Some are sent in for repair of serious safety concerns, some less crucial, and some for appearance not actual function. There's poor performance ratings on varying equipment at various times in a variety of makes and models. Let's bring back TOTAL domestic manufacturing and see if that raises quality. WE NEED THE JOBS IN YHE U.S.!

If we mess this up, and more decent wages disappear, the GDP (God Damned Plantation) is doomed. Who will buy new trucks, Royals and Chiefs stuff, ESPN, tailgate snacks & beer, vacations, build mancaves, pay for weddings, give to charities? Yeah, union workers are some of biggest in wealth sharing.

  7. why would anyone EVER buy a UAW made piece of shit like a Ford, GM or Chrysler car?

let those greedy union slobs scam themselves out of a job--

NO MORE taxpayers bailouts of UAW slobs!

  8. 4:27 if they started paying UAW employees $1.00 an hour the price of cars would not go down one single penny. And no, I'm not in a union nor do I know an autoworker. When few people in this country have any purchasing power it's not good for anyone. Real wages in this country haven't risen since the early 70's. Would you rather have an economy like the 1950's or what we currently have now? I'll take the 50's.
