Budgeting $10 million for derelict building demolition is the perfect place to park the money which will be available when tomorrow's consultant shows up at city hall with the next BIG IDEA and the funds can become the subject of an ordinance "recognizing an emergency" and quietly appropriated for some cool trendy new project.

ReplyDeleteA real politician is supposed to be for all the people of all religions. If you have to make it a known fact your Jewish or whatever, all you have done is convinced me that by claiming such in some way makes you a better person over those who don't worship as you do.
I am sick and tired of all these politicians using God in some way or another trying to convince the voters they are an upstanding, righteous person by saying, God Bless, You.
Claiming to be a Christian or whatever does not make you a better person. Acting like a real Christian does not make you one either. All the good Christians I know don't have to tell me they are such. I already know they are.

As a post script to my comments above, who gives a shit if the Navy SEAL is a jew? How is that supposed to affect my vote? He could be full-blown bat shit crazy like Sam Brownback, which is a hell of a lot more important than if he goes to a synagogue or a church to pray.
