KANSAS CITY POLICE BUDGET BATTLE CONTINUES AMID OUTCRY AGAINST CUTS!!!

The prospect of cutting Kansas City police has given Kansas City a moment of pause amid a slew of tax break schemes for developers.

Just as TKC reported FIRST . . . The push back against these cuts has been fierce and started with police representatives.

Take a look at MSM follow-up . . .

Fox4: FOP president says fewer officers on KC streets mean increased waits for police response

Following a note from the KCPD Chief on this topic . . . In this same report, an important threat from City Hall politicos . . .

Councilman Fowler said it the earnings tax doesn't pass the police department will be in even worse shape. "If we don't have that tax we will without a doubt have no alternative but to lay off public safety."

And so, budget and election time lead Kansas City to a contest of competing fears while the corporate cronies with political connections can safely assume they'll be first in line to reap their benefits.

  1. Lyin' Sly James and crew will stoop to record lows to pass this tax that's obvious.

It would be one thing if they were honest and had honor but they aren't and don't.

  6. Not ANY of this is real. It's manufactured. City hall wants the E tax MONEY so much they will do this to scare the public.

When they have over 100 million to BURN in the *jazz district and don't feel they have to explain where any of it went, I don't feel the need to give them any more.

My freakin' water bill went up TWENTY BUCKS last month!! Ain't KC Great?

VOTE NO on the E tax
Every chance you have to VOTE somebody out of office in kc politics, do it.

  7. Yes people if you don't give us this money to waste we will go out of our way to punish you. We will have our lazy assed bureaucrats doing even less than they do now. Your friends at the Emerald City.

So let me get this straight, you are using the police budget as a way to create panic and fear in the people in order to make sure you get your precious E-Tax, all the while giving tax breaks to companies based on nothing more than the assumption of success?

This my friends is government at it's worse!!

  10. Wyco and Joco residents in those good KCMo jobs gladly pay the teeny 1%, and would vote for it (price of admission). Remember Sly said half the tax is paid by those working in, but not living in KC. Hmmmmm.

  11. Yup half the tax is paid by people who are denied the right to vote on it. KC's own pay up and shut up policy against anyone with a job.

The ones who get over are the slew of out of state corporations that send folks in to work then leave. They usually have company rentals outside the city limits. They never pay up and never will get caught. Smart!

  12. People, if you vote the e tax down they will raise your taxes more than they have now. They have to make that money up somehow. The water bills will go up more, city taxes will go up more. I don't like it either, Sly, the city council, Brad Lemon are all liars. The pd won't lay anyone off, and the city will "find" the money in the end. Yes this city wastes money, and my police department wastes money. As of January 2016 25% of the sworn officers are sgt and above. Forte continues to promote at a higher rate then any other chief. We have made up positions and units and now he wants another deputy chief, a take home car plus 120, 000 or more. Captains who have no responsibilities because there are no captain openings but promoted at the tune of 90,000 a year, same for most of the sgts he just promoted at the tune of 80,000 a year.

Yes they are all to blame, but make no mistake if we don't pass the e tax you will get hit for more taxes one way or another.

Vote them out, push for a new chief of police (outside person cuz all the rest are just as bad as Forte)

  13. The police are well endowed with Public Safety Sales Tax overflow. Don't fall for the City Budget trickery. It's all ways wrong. VOTE NO ON ETAX!
