Why should birth certificates conform with biology? Why is that important? Accuracy? Why? Biology got her gender wrong, so the state's going to compound her problems? They are not about accuracy, many of them don't tell the truth about paternity.

1) You were born a male.
2) Your state-issued birth certificate states this fact.
3) The state of Kansas did not interfere with your choice to deny this reality, due to your mental health issues.
4) However, the state of Kansas will not alter accurate official documents at your whim, just as it will not expunge criminal records for someone claiming to have reformed themselves, or approve a butcher's application to become a licensed surgeon because he's good with a knife.

ReplyDeleteFacts are facts. Just because this person changed their gender after birth for whatever reason, does not alter or change the fact that this being was born a male. People deserve to know if you were born male or female and choose different relationships knowing those set of facts, just like handicaps, ugly-genes, etc. You can't rewrite the past. That's what the request is. I hope it gets thrown out of court.
