The Bernie Sanders for Prez camp CLEARLY knows what they're doing and their choice of MO House Rep. Brandon Ellington to warm up the crowd reveals very real insight into Kansas City politics.
Rep. Ellington is one of the few leaders on either side of party lines who remains independent of special interests, he is a tireless advocate for his constituents and he has earned surprising success reaching across the aisle to his Republican colleagues. On issues like school choice and TIF reform, the young legislator has broken the mold from Kansas City Democrats in much the same way the Bernie Sanders hopes to transcend typical party politics.

Very few elected officials have as much credibility as Rep. Ellington and the Sanders campaign reaching out to this elected official is one of the best moves we've seen so far in the Democratic Primary of 2016.

Their less than nuanced, uneducated, metronomic support for all things on the Left, is, in and of itself the truth of this argument and a power we can't "overcome".
