Questionable contracts in Jackson County continue without much oversight and, apparently, a heartfelt apology is all it takes to make it good.

Here's the basics . . .
The county’s top lawyer, Stephen Nixon, said he made that deal on Jan. 15. It wasn’t posted until Feb. 2, some 19 days later.
“I thought those things went down right away,” said Jackson County legislator Dan Tarwater.
“If I had it to do over again, with 20-20 hindsight, I would have sent you all a copy the day I got it back,” Nixon said. “It should have gone down there right away, and if it didn’t, then that was a failure from my office, from which I take responsibility for.”

ReplyDeleteFor the $10,000/month, the putrid Sanders should be forced by newly elected County Executive Frank "Bleached" White to fill out a time card. Although I imagine this special side deal doesnt require Sanders to do a minutes work during the entire 6 months, he should at least fill out a time card so the feckless citizens should know what they got for their money. Maybe then, someone might get punished for this under the table giveaway.

ReplyDeleteAnyone who thinks Nixon did this all on his own is a dunce. It's those "courthouse types" (those "advisors" Sanders put on the payroll to actually run things) who put this deal together for their old boss. He hired them and gave them all a fat paycheck. Now it's just time for them to give a little payback. Seriously, how can anyone justify giving Sanders the same amount of money per month to do a little consulting (and my guess is very little)that he was making when he was the fulltime executive.
