TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY FACE-OFF: NEW EXEC FRANK WHITE EARNS LESSON FROM VETERAN LEGISLATOR DAN TARWATER!!!

This morning we're already seeing conflict develop between two political forces that could find themselves on the way to a show down.
To wit . . .
SPECIAL THANKS TO KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS FOR SHARING THIS LEGISLATIVE DUST-UP BETWIXT NEW EXEC FRANK WHITE AND LEGISLATOR DAN TARWATER!!!
From the outset, it looks like the baseball legend is getting an education in County politics from an elected official we shouldn't yet count out for the top job . . .
JACKSON COUNTY INSIDER: Frank White gets schooled in his first hour on the job by veteran Dan Tarwater
Frank White probably expected that his first hour on the job would go easier than this. Right after he had been sworn in as the new exec, one of the first items of business that Frank proposed, logically, was previously noncontroversial resolution supporting new and bigger nets at Kaufman to protect the fans from foul balls and bats. Everyone thought it was a home run. After all, who knows more about baseball than Frank White?
However, who knows better about the rules of the county legislature and insider baseball than 21 year county veteran Dan Tarwater?
In a shrewd procedural move that nobody saw coming, Dan was singlehandedly able to get Frank's resolution tabled "until further discussion" (i.e. - until Dan has made his point with Frank and everyone that he is now the new driving force to be reckoned with in the county legislature now that Sanders is gone). One can only assume that Tarwater will simply wave his hand and allow the resolution to pass next week, but his point was clearly made today. There's no school like the old school, and Frank just learned that Tarwater is the county's new headmaster.

Developing . . .
Sly was the same way, he understood very little about the process but he learned quickly.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see if Frank has the capacity to think on his feet. I hope so because Dan is more competitive than the City Council and he obviously isn't going to let frank roll over him without a fight.
We need more checks and balances in local government.
ReplyDeleteIt's time the legislature was more than just a rubber stamp.
Frank will get up to speed quickly. I think this might result in some consulting work for Mike right off the bat. Looks like Frank needs some help and fast.
ReplyDeleteIf the Royals want better nets, let them pay for them!
ReplyDeleteSo the most important issue for Jackson County taxpayers is consideration for new nets at the baseball park?
ReplyDeleteNot a good start for Mr. White.
Sounds like Crystal got played too? I mean, isn't Crystal chair?
ReplyDeleteThe jockstrap is absolutely incapable of managing anything or understanding complex public policy.
ReplyDeleteFirst Inning
ReplyDeleteError -- White
I feel for Frank on that one. He was still a member of the legislature. His colleagues should have looked out for him. In addition, didn't he have a legislative aide to follow the proceedings and look for trouble? It seems like Frank was ill-served on several levels.
ReplyDeleteHow much you want to bet that the PR guy decided to "leak this to Tony" thinking it would make Mr. Tarwater look "mean" or "petty."
ReplyDeleteStupid.
Those nets are required by Major League Baseball, so why didn't The Royals buy the nets?
ReplyDeleteWe do not need a Sanders-Owned Lawn Jock standing in front of the Courthouse. We need a smart and experienced leader.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Let's just appoint the guy with the LEAST experience in government, AND the least experience with administration.
ReplyDeleteLike Obama when he took office, Frank doesn't even have the managerial experience to run a lemonade stand. Let's hope he hires folks with experience.
Why can't the county executive simply mandate the nets and make the Royals pay for them? I'm tired of subsidizing millionaires.
ReplyDeleteIf 8:16 is correct in their allegation, that Public Relations hack should be fired today. No second chance. Would that be Angie?
ReplyDeleteWill Frank White tell journalists all he knows about Sanders' exit, which we hear includes charges of money laundering and tax dodging? This guy should have to answer some questions. How did he get moved up so fast?
ReplyDeleteObviously doing the swearing-in at the Independence Office was a smack down to Kansas City. Dan Tarwater will never treat KC like that.
ReplyDeleteHere's a clue for all the legal eagles who think they know more than they actually do.
ReplyDeleteAs owners of the stadium, Jackson County will be held liable, not the Royals, for all injuries that occur if their building is not up to the new industry standards, which calls for additional netting to help prevent fan injuries.
And is this the way you want government to work? Two-bit politicians making power plays to delay even the simplest, cheapest improvements to improve public safety in public buildings just to show who's boss?
This should be a no-brainer, but apparently that standard is too high for Tarwater.
Tarwater is a Dixiecrat. He should join the Republican Party like most of the bigots of this country have already done. Dan Tarwater is a hateful old bigot. I have no doubt that he would do everything he could to embarrass Frank White.
ReplyDelete"As owners of the stadium, Jackson County will be held liable, not the Royals, for all injuries that occur if their building is not up to the new industry standards, which calls for additional netting to help prevent fan injuries."
ReplyDeleteThat was true up until MLB changed the requirements for its (cartel) member TEAMS. Every team has to do this under MLB rules.
Yeah, you can bitch about taxpayer-subsidized sports facilities, but KC is hardly unique in that regard, and that practice goes back a long, long way.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, H. Roe Bartle was considered a shrewd leader for offering Lamar Hunt a $1 a year lease on Municipal plus scads of pre-sold season tickets if he would move his Dallas Texans here.
"Every team has to do this under MLB rules."
ReplyDeleteYes, and even if the Royals paid for the nets and the installation, it would still take an act of the county legislature to make any alterations to a stadium that the county owns.
Dan has the goods on Sanders that will make it impossible to elect "The Lawn Jockey." Get a good look at him while you can. Frank is not long for the Courthouse. In fact, I think Dan should run as a Republican. Dan understands why good people are so fed up with the Demo-rat pandering to fags, dykes and our good friends in the "African American Community" (niggers in the kill zone.)
ReplyDeleteIf a legislative aide in City Hall or Jeff City let something like that happen and did not even tell their principal that the problem was coming, that legislative aide would be looking for work this morning.
ReplyDeleteRethuglican 8:58
ReplyDelete"Good people" don't use words like fags, dykes & niggers in their every day conversation.
Yes, since Tarwater is a bully, he should join the Rethuglican Party. They obstruct to prove that they are the disloyal opposition. The simplest things don't get done.

ReplyDeleteOf course that's not what you said the first time. In addition, the nets cannot be considered a structural detail of the stadium any more than the base pads. Does the legislature have to vote to give its approval every time the grounds crews change out the base pads?
Grow up. You got caught. You are either a really bad attorney who should not have a license, or you are a crook.
9:02, recall that Tony characterizes Tarwater's dick-waving as "a shrewd procedural move that nobody saw coming."
ReplyDeleteI presume that "nobody" includes legislative aides, and that Tarwater blindsided White over a completely silly issue.
I guess Tony just worships politicians who play silly games even with matters of public safety. After all, even Tony admits this thing will get passed, as early as next week. And still, he applauds silly "procedural" games -- the kind of things that really piss people off about government bureaucracy.
And you know what? If Tarwater continues to play these silly little obstructionist games just to show up Frank White, well I would guess that the winner of a White vs. Tarwater matchup, if that's what Tarwater is after , wouldn't be that hard to predict.
Byron, it would be nice if the White Supremacist, homophobic public officials who benefit from the racist comments left on this blog -- if indeed it is NOT the officials themselves -- would renounce that support. They never do. They say "we will not honor that with a response" if you really press them in person. But what they mean is: Wink, Wink, Nod, Nod. Tarwater should publically disassociate himself from the racist bullshit that has been increasing over the past few weeks -- or Tarwater should own it and buy himself a "Sam Browne Belt."
ReplyDeleteRight. Installing a new safety feature to the county-owned stadium is exactly the same as the grounds crew changing the bases.
ReplyDeleteHey, stupid. Why do you think the safety net is before the county legislature in the first place? If the Royals could do it on their own, it would already have been done. But they can't. Under the lease, it's a significant structural change to the stadium that requires the approval of the owners of the property, just like if you decided to paint your apartment purple.
Once again, I didn't think the readers of this blog could get any dumber. And once again, I've been proven wrong.
To the Libtard at 943 please get a room if you insist on sucking By-tard's deseased dickette and you can hug each other while AIDS kills you.
ReplyDeleteDan Tarwater is a strong man who would never have caved in when the niggers and nigger lovers cried about white people rallying on Jackson Cty Park land to point out the genocide pulled by the Yankees in the war of Northern Aggression! FUCK YOU FAGGOT FUCK YOU.

ReplyDeleteWhy does approval mean "pay for" in your world?
Why not watch the City Hall's Channel 2 where Time to be Well a daily, wellness program hosted by Kathy Barry, a registered dietitian with the Citys Fountain of Health Wellness Program will tell you why you need to start eating better and taking care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteForget all this corrupt back room deal stuff going on.
Maybe the city council should start taking Kathy Barry more seriously instead of sitting there on camera trying to look really interested in what she's saying.
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not a world does exist outside of this little frosty shell-bubble-debtors prison called KCMO.

Stupid pissing match between someone who is not liked enough to land the job and someone who is liked but doesn't have the experience to do it well... neither will come out well. Dan still wont get the job he thinks he deserves, and Frank will be done in a year.
ReplyDeleteFuck Tarwater. He's not the "headmaster", he's the head job!! Fucking, loud mouthed asshole is all he's ever been.
ReplyDeleteTony can't get anyone except Jackson County "players" to feed him stories anymore. Jackson County can't get anyone but Tony to care.
ReplyDeleteEven Teresa and Heather are gun shy about this blog, and neither one of them has an iota of political sense. Otherwise no one in a position of power will give pobre Tony any tips.
Time to change the name of this blog because to what it really is Tonys Kansas City Suburbs.
I've met Tarwater a couple of times, he's good friends with a relative of mine. Totally disappointed he'd pull something like this on Frank White's first day. I'd expect something like this from Sly or Sanders, I guess Dan's not quite the guy I thought he was.....disappointed
ReplyDeleteLive the dream that is America....
ReplyDeleteMark Siettmann is setting up all of the Demos now that he has an employment contract in hand and I love it! Tony is just his scribe. You cannot do a thing about it. LOL LOL LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteSecond base, yes. County Executive, no. Politics, very little on decision-making.
ReplyDeleteI think that is great Dan Tarwater. Put Frank and Mike Sanders in their place. All Frank White is going to is a puppet on a string for Mike Sanders! Until Frank distances himself from Sander the better off he will be at his new post!
