Interim Exec Fred Arbanas is a good choice and has the respect of his colleagues. Interim Exec Arbanas spent 40 years on the Legislature and even his placeholder gig signals that nothing much has changed at the courthouse despite every candidate in the past 20 years running as a so-called "reformer" and misleading the voting public.

Legislator Denny Waits stays winning as do other longtime denizens of the County.

All of the familiar conflicts and contracts are in place.

The people who know the courthouse can only snicker when hack newsies publish good government propaganda.

Things Are Really Going To Get Interesting As The LeVotas And Victor Callahan Compete For Power And Influence


This is the fun part.

Already our blog community has talked to almost half a dozen people hoping to draft Victor Callahan as the next Jackson County Exec. MEANWHILE the LeVotas are admittedly taking calls from just about everybody with ambition in and around Meth Town . . . There is a feeding frenzy of political promises being made as nobody knows who is really going to be in charge in the next few weeks.

Curse Of 3 Terms Killed The Once Promising Career Of Mike Sanders


A man who was a darling of local media and might have run for Missouri Governor at one point is now having trouble finding his next job. A lot of people don't know this but KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS remind us that Mike Sanders was never really that great in private practice and now that he has little to no leverage . . . Biz is going to be even tougher to find. Worse still  . . . That vaporware train doesn't look like it's on track to save the former exec . . . And just like we said, the grand schemes of this politico now seem imaginary as this former elected official finds that his "friends" aren't so friendly when there is no favor to be returned.

Politicos and voters should learn from the Downfall of Mike Sanders . . . Even top ranking power brokers can become inconsequential in an instant and all of the accolades and  influence quickly evaporates. Of course rebounds and retreads are part of the game as well but Mike Sanders won his office by way of avoiding anything resembling a real election fight and so his political toughness has always been in question. We look forward to him returning to the scene one day rather than living with the "family time" cliché retreat.

Don't Count Out Legislator Dan Tarwater


Here's a newsflash that's too uncomfortable for many to mention: Legislator and baseball legend Frank White isn't such a big deal out in Eastern Jack. Also, I'm sure the Royals might find a way to support a candidate who won't be actively looking for revenge . . . And so, Legislator Tarwater deserves another look as a more experienced contender to take the top job he has wanted for so long.
