I doubt you will find a bar or tavern owner in the United States that doesn't think BMI and ASCAP are blood suckers for the ridiculous licensing fees they try to cram down bar owners throats. If these shit heels would work with the small guys instead of ripping the lining out of their pockets perhaps they wold not meet the kind of resistance they do.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^^ Shut up Grandpa Tanner
ReplyDelete@9:22 is on the money. The music industry is digging its own grave.

ReplyDeleteWal-Mart is giving most of its employees raises.
The targeted closing of stores was to trim fat. It had nothing to do with the earlier raises that they gave out.
You people don't want the minimum wage increased because you think that most of the minimum wage earners are black, & you're racist. Just like you think that most of the people on public assistance are black. Wrong again.
End the war on the poor, because you're too stupid to see that its also a war on the muddle class.
Tanner's better bet the checkbook out. Those ASCAP boys don't leave until they collect.
ReplyDeleteAnthony's paid over $10,000 when they ignored them.
Got to get the dough from somebody since Spotify and iTunes rip off those who own the intellectual rights to music.
Who better to put the pressure on than the little guy.
They went after a bar on Independence Ave a few years ago. They ended up paying $500 instead of the thousands ASCAP tried to extort at first.
All because some ham-and-eggers were playing tunes once and awhile.
Janis Ian recently received a check for royalties for 35-cents. That was after her manager got a cut.
Wait until the local bars get hit with having to make sure the bands they hire have liability insurance.
Would you just look at the head on that NIGGER? Jebus, where'd that fucking splib come from??
ReplyDeleteJust wait until the local bar bands realize they haven't been paying their Missouri Entertainers tax on every gig at every bar. Just wait until they see the penalties for not paying.
ReplyDeleteJust makes no fucking sense that a bar pays $25.00 for a year long royalty tribunal stamp for their jukebox, but if they present the music on a quality sound system and have a DJ the ASCAP/BMI bill for playing the same fucking music can easily jump into the thousands. Thank your crooked ass politicians getting their palms greased for that one.
If you think those ten dollar well drinks are a bitch just wait for these so called "rights" fees to go up on a whim.
