TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY BEHIND THE SCENES: COUNCIL CLOSE TO FIRING CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE AND SENDING MESSAGE TO MAYOR SLY!!!

As we look forward to next year it's easy to see that the fight over the City Manager will start 2016 off on a contentious political note and with a struggle for power betwixt the Mayor vs. Council.

To wit . . .

COUNCIL VOTES COULD SOON BRING THE TOPIC OF CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE'S CONTRACT TO A CONTENTIOUS CLIMAX TO START THE YEAR!!!

What's interesting here is that the Mayor is being forced to fight for Schulte simply to thwart another messy city manager selection process.

City Hall deal making has been in full swing over the X-mas break and politicos are trying to find an amicable transition which hopes to prevent a public showdown. Also, few expected the Mayor to dig in with his support of the City Manager given that this town's top politico isn't known for his loyalty.

Accordingly, we expect Troy Schulte could very well win this fight for career survival but it's not going to be pretty and could further alienate some council members along with neighborhoods and communities frustrated with the City Manager's legacy of deferred maintenance in the midst of support for one eco-devo scheme after the next.

  1. Better title: municipal career death pool predictions.

For the hotel along, Troy deserves this one.

  2. This asshole has been one of the worst City Managers since the days of Pendergast. He needs to go and soon.

  3. Don't the eco-devo projects bring in funds to pay for neighborhood maintenance?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Eco Devo project only bring in funds when they are in the northland or Overland Park. Those additional 15,000 people living downtown and in midtown are all paid consultants on the mayors staff. Also kale. SMERTCK

  5. Troy heads the corrupt machine in City Hall. He will operate it to accommodate those in power. He put all of the parts of the machin in place in City Hall and at EDC. Starting with the top is a great start then cleanout the rest of his appointed corrupt machine operation!!!

  7. Troy isn't the only bad fruit on that tree .
Slydog without question sets the corrupt standards.
Individuals like Jolie Justus fall into line.
"An apple doesn't fall far from the tree"
Lets cut the tree down to the stump.
The corruption has now trickled into neighborhoods through their HOAs and homes associations.
The plans for Eminent Domain at Armour and Troost is probably the greatest example of corruption at city hall ,and homes associations like the Rascist Hyde Park Neighborhood Association forcing gentrification in the Midtown Core.

  8. Troy should also be fired for hiring John Wood and Pat Klein as assistants. Troy shouldnt walk out by himself. The whole lot of them need to go, especially these two. Can you imagine the stuttering and blinking Pat and John would do if they got the gig. Liars tend to reveal themselves - perhaps that's the upside whereas Troy is a sociopath.

  9. 7:02: Eco devo brings in just enough to pay for the ever-present steel plates that abound in midtown.

  10. Don't overlook Bob Langenkamp, another corrupt part of the machine, and Joe Eagan, and the worthless City attorney who renders legal decisions based upon what Troy dictates.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Also get a real professional to head the Human Resources Department. KC now has a former radio announcer acting in this capacity who enables Troy to appoint loyal people to his corrupt machine. Kansas City needs a professional Human Resources Department as it had under Bob Kipp, who had a Human Resource Director respected nationally in the profession and who had some professional integrity. O'Bannon takes marching orders then institutes his part of the cover-up and corruption. This whole thing is much worse than Pendergast ever had going on in city government.

  12. Should probably hire someone more niggers don't you think?

  13. How the city works hand in hand with the Devil, in this cas MAC PROPERTIES and HPNAA quote from website of antheus, mac properties parent company:
"... we limit our activity to submarkets where we can produce attractive year-after-year operating increases, in addition to the benefits that result from opportunistic acquisitions and value-added redevelopment. In these markets we have been able to take advantage of early stage gentrification trends to acquire assets at significant discounts and reposition them to command above-market rents and long-term rental growth.

Investments often include a significant repositioning component through extensive design and renovation activity that involves emptying buildings, conducting a complete restoration and then re-tenanting at higher rents."

They don't seem to understand how disgustingly elitist, & parasitical, that sounds.

However, making Troy a scapegoat will not magically solve your problems.

If he stands up to the mayor he'll be fired, & if he does what he's told, everyone will hate him for a 'yes' man.

He's an underling, so why blame him for anything?

  15. True about Human Resources--that department needs a smart director who has some understanding of ethics. He needs to hire outsiders, and ones who are graduates of real colleges, not commercial for profit "colleges".

  16. The problem is with this tardy firing is that the damage has been done and the city is never going to undo it all. This ass clown should have been gone years ago. He has not only sold a pack of wolf tickets to the city more than once, he has also fucked up a lot of peoples lives with his shit. What a shame this ass can not be made to pay for his arrogance.

  17. Even with e tax money KC is broke and in debt. How is that good city management?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Matters not how many well meaning and well intended people you bring into city hall. If they are of the weak minded and weak will variety, they will corrupt or be corrupted. Those that stay and remain silent are weakest because they can usually be bought off. In exchange for their 'service' they get to be seen. It's a vicious cycle but respectable and integral people leave when they see what's really going on. Good luck finding an honest person at City Hall.

  19. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it takes 9 votes to fire the CM if the Mayor is not one of those voting in favor of it. Please, if the City is going broke, then look at the bloated budget of the KCFD.

  20. James and Schulte. There is something wrong (mentally) with both of them. Seriously wrong. Not to forget all the pathological liars sucking up to them.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 11:35 cant quite connect the dots , all money is being funneled into the street car expansion, fabricated airport studies and paying the minimum on the interest on failed TIFs .
Expect a huge property tax increase, along with jeopardizing KCPD pensions.
We have only ourselves to blame, SlyDog is nothing but a whore for big business.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He allows a private company to use city manager letterhead and stationery to sell sewer line insurance. The insurance is not bad per se but annointing one company and letting it use his name is unethical.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The corruption machine that Troy has put in place in City Hall with his hand picked friends will not operate unless Troy gives orders. Cutting off the head is a good start at cleaning up City Hall. that is not scapegoating---that would be strategic...since Sly cannot give administrative orders to any city staff.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 10:24: Sobering up after the holiday? You're a lonely voice in the wilderness objecting to cleaning up Armour and Troost. At least you've got Byron convinced.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Troy should be fired for making that incompetent Sherri McIntyre the Director of Public Works. How many wrongful termination lawsuits has the city lost because of these two.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Troy hand picks people with no integrity who are assured to be "Yes" people and be good soldiers for his marching orders. That is how his machine of internal corruption works.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Big, fat Troy is only the head of the snake. A great place to start but man, is that place full of snakes!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's funny how many people on this blog don't know the first thing about running a government or blame Troy Schulte for everything. The city is in full swing on development, lots of residential units going in downtown, hotels going in, and LOTS of private investment after decades of downtown being a apocalyptic wasteland for years. How is that bad?

    ReplyDelete
  29. @2:26pm Its bad because we, the taxpayers, keep footing the bill and the usual handful of white business people/families continue to get rich at our expense. KC residents have never seen a ROI. All we do is spend and 'invest' for a return that this city has NEVER realized. Sprint Center, Power and Light, TIFF projects...need I say more?

  30. I don't like Troy because he is an asshole.

  31. @ 5:05 You haven't seen an ROI???? How about great restaurants, Big 12 Tournaments, international exposure on Soccer, housing values rising, etc. Blah, blah, blah on you footing the bill. The city would never have realized any increased taxes because no one would develop in the first place.
