The office of the Jackson County Executive is in disarray and the transition is going to be pretty horrible according to most Insiders.
There's still a lot we need to catch up on but for now here are a few items worth considering . . .
Legislator Dennis Waits Stays Winning
After Charter Changes . . . Could this guy end up with a pension at $120K for 30 days worth of work? Turns out seat-warming in politics is probably the best job in the game.
The Mike Sanders Campaign War Chest Open Question
Mike Sanders is now a political nobody but money STILL talks . . . Behind the scenes, Missouri Democrats are fighting to divide the last remnants of a once promising political career.
Bishop Tindall Job Unprotected For Now
Work for Bishop Tindall is no longer protected by the County Exec and many community members wonder how this upheaval will impact so many County contracts which, like it or not, are the lifeblood of local politics.
Developing . . .
Cathy Jolly for Exec.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say that Sanders is a nobody, he's got a lot of strings he can pull now and he might be even more of a player behind the scenes which has always been the way he liked to operate. It's too optimistic to think that he's out of the game.
ReplyDeleteTime to clean house @ 12th & Oak.
ReplyDeleteBoth sides.
Whoever gets it should be one who is against unsolicited bulk email.
ReplyDeleteWaites is part of that Eastern Jackson County "Inner Circle" of lawyers.
ReplyDeleteThey always get what they want.
Better deals especially. Most people know it, but the hilarious thing is that the "inner circle" thinks that the rest of us aren't aware of it.
Mr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteMike Sanders is dead meat. Flat out, no room to maneuver, political dead meat.
His $500k war chest is an interesting item. Is part of a plea agreement involving not only resigning his seat, squealing on some Jefferson City intrigue and donating that half million to charity?
Poor Mr. Tarwater. He was so hoping Sanders would keep his word and name him Interim County Exec. Ha! The wheels came of the wagon when Ms Cathy Jolly refused to lie to the FBI. Sanders used some of his money to mail out anti Tarwater hit pieces last year.
Welcome to the big league of small politics, Mr Frank White! Will you become part of the cesspool and give Sanders a break and a Vapetrain job? How tight will you let Jim Nutter hold your reins? 1985 was a long time ago. You are now in a world that asks "What have you done for me lately?"
The Kansas City Atheist Coaliton has no statement on these or any relevant matters.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
You are welcomed
ReplyDeleteAs long as the interim Executive listens to Joan Dickey, they will be fine. Joan is a steady hand in times of trouble. She knows the county operations like no other. It would be a terrible mistake if anyone would look past her good counsel.
ReplyDeleteHahaha!!! 8:46! Thanks for the morning joke!
ReplyDelete8:48 We assume you are one of the clowns that needs to be removed from the public payroll once the new team is in charge.
ReplyDeleteObviously, if they got rid of some of the clowns, deadwood and drug addicts at the Courthouse there would be money to hire competent and loyal administrative help for the best staff. There are still individuals on staff who flunk basic drug tests. That has to change.
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't this story in the local paper? Oh Kraske! Where are you? How is this good government, KC Star? Will you continue to praise this disgraced politician, Mike Sanders, until the stink is to much to stand? Kathryn Sheilds, Mark Funkhouser, Sly James......
ReplyDeleteWhy is the local paper giving the Jackson County Legislators a pass? They will vote for this garbage.
Can the Interim County Exec selected by Skippy also be voted in as County Exec by the Legislators? If so, we can save that pension for real County expenses.
clowns, deadwood and drug addicts? LOL love it
ReplyDeleteDenny should listen to Joan. She knows many things.
ReplyDeleteDenny should go to jail.
ReplyDeleteI still would not count out Dan Tarwater. He is a STRONG Catholic. That still means a lot in this County.
ReplyDeleteVelda = Deadwood
ReplyDeleteIt is a pity that The Star and the FBI ignore this pension issue. I hear they almost appointed Waits for too short of a period of time to qualify him for the big payoff.
ReplyDeleteShow Tindall the door.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Sanders handing Crystal William's gal-pal Brittany Burke $80K for no work? Who goes to jail for that?
ReplyDeleteAnd no Sarah Starnes that is not "shaming" Brittany Burke that is simply pointing out public corruption. But Sarah, you will never understand that because you live in you own little unreal world paid for by the doctor's money, which has nothing to do with reality. "Will you sign this petition to make things really, really nice?"
Cathy Jolly is back @10:21. I overheard her spewing the same hateful rant at a holiday party about 10 days ago. She was telling a former member of council.
ReplyDeleteMiss Sweetie Pie...uh..umm...doesn't know half of what "she" thinks she does. Keep typing in bold though, gives it more punch. I can't believe Cathy Jolly has the balls to be out in public. What a self-serving pig.

ReplyDeleteIt means that a solid Catholic community can put down the hapless Niggers.
Nobody ever got poor by holding elective office in Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone add a name to the list of Joan Dickey's friends or admirers:
ReplyDelete1. Joan Dickey
9:08, the news media tends to not dwell on speculative unsubstantiated bullshit, which this is. hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lie. You haven't read the Star paper lately. It's mostly unsubstantiated bullshit.
DeleteThe local media sucks their own tits and pretends its on a date. They are afraid of losing friends by actually running down some of that speculation and finding a story.
ReplyDeleteThe Star knows that the county votes on the TIF commission could have stopped their sweetheart tax exemption. The publisher will never let the paper run a negative story against Sanders.
ReplyDeleteHelling came all over himself when he wrote the story about Sanders leaving "to spend more time with his family."
ReplyDeleteCall the FBI. He needs to go to JAIL !!!!! :(
ReplyDeleteWhat about Skippy using public money to hire DeAnn Smith's husband so that she could not cover the county for any news organization?
ReplyDeleteJust another great boost for business for real estate agents in Johnson County.
ReplyDeleteAnd just wait for all of Sly's bills to come due!
They're going fast, so get those down payments in the till!
Frosty!
I think we should discuss Deanne again.

ReplyDeleteI don't have a dog in this fight, but you should try to resist your reptilian impulses. Putting a suit in jail is a waste of money, & prison space. Send them home without their supper, bar them from the public sphere, seize any ill gotten assets, and move on.
The return of TGR?
ReplyDeleteSkippy's last days.....now that's some funny shit. Wonder what Skippy did to Rita ? Must have something to do with the grifting at Guadalupe Center.
ReplyDeleteThere is a dead fish floating in this vendetta and it has the smell of a Mexican with a grudge.
TGR..now that's funny! She's a nobody trying to be a somebody. Moving along.
ReplyDeleteSkippy, Skippy, Skippy I guess you're finding out now that you really never had any friends.
ReplyDeleteToo bad, because Sanders had a lot of potential. A lot of people really believed in him and turned out to be wrong.
There are no true friends in politics.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know Skippy's position on unsolicited bulk email?
ReplyDeleteI hope Skippy is for it.
ReplyDeleteIt drives the economy, you know.
